Luke Shaw scored the first goal of his career in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Leicester. After Paul Pogba put United ahead, Shaw doubled our lead, and his goal proved important after Jamie Vardy’s injury time consolation goal.

The left-back, who has had a difficult time at United since signing four years ago, has claimed this moment was the best of his career.

For me, today, for my career so far, it was the best feeling I’ve felt. I was quick to react from my touch, got round him [Ricardo Pereira], swung my foot at it and it just sort of connected right and went into the bottom corner. From there, I just went and celebrated.

Honestly I can’t describe it, in front of the Stretford End, it’s the best feeling I’ve had. I’m so proud and happy to be able to help the team. Hopefully I made my family proud tonight too with my first goal and hopefully I can push on forward and get many more and help the team out more.
