Wow, it's been 6 years already.

He is crap now though. Bring Collymore out of retirement to replace him.

I'm totally not jumping on the "This is the end of Wayne Rooney" bandwagon, but still: when has he last scored from a freekick? I don't remember him scoring a freekick lately...

Wayne will be fine. 3 weeks off. Probably the best thing for him. By then there'll be another celeb scandal for them to focus on. He's the next in line for the kings throne. Viva king Rooney!

Costas September 28, 2010
He has changed a lot as a player since then. You won't find see him scoring goals like these 3 today. He is not putting his boot through the ball either. He is turning into what Ruud is in this video...

This is the first time in his career that Rooney had a dip in form, and ABU cunts are having a field day.
Sooner rather than later, they will all eat their word. As for dick-head Stan, I hope he chokes on them!!!!

@FletchTHEMAN

Thanks pal. Doing our best.

@RTNK

No I meant that he doesn't score goals like that. I won't mention free kicks, because that was never his forte. He hasn't scored out side the box in a long while. And when he does shoot outside the box, he tries to curl it rather than go for power.

Costas September 28, 2010
As for the dip in form, I think it's a testament to the ABUism, ignorance or plain stupidity of some pundits that they would write off a player after his most prolific year...

@Mickjk, Never fear asking good questions. Hopefully you will always find good mates on here.
Just never mention United as ManU or suggest that Morinho should be our next coach ;) Even though they talk tough, some folks are sensitive.

ABU in football, it refers to how the English press seem to have a thing for putting down Manchester United. Specifically, Anyone But United, refers to the fact that the press seem to glorify virtually any other english team ahead of United. Probably has to do that most are from London or used to play for Liverpool, but that is just my opinion.

As tor the rest of the world, here is a link to an amazing list of things that ABU can stand for.

Anyone But United.

I haven't felt that Rooney has played at all badly, Sure, not what he was last season and his first touch is well off, but with the ball at his feet, his vision, accuracy and work ethic are still top class.

We're second with Rooney as he is - the season will be OK.

He'll be fine. I'm wondering if he's really happiest as the leading light though, at least over a long time. He did well last season, really well, and he looked to be enjoying himself, but when you're the star man people are always onto you when your form goes. I'm wondering if this season he's not missing the days when Ronaldo was there to take the spotlight and the abuse.

Fundamentally the treatment he's been getting from the media, whether he invited it on himself or not with his publicity deals, is something that I can't imagine anybody wanting to deal with. Who here would want the world to know every move they make? Who'd want to be the topic of conversation for millions of people around the country and beyond? Bottom line is Rooney is different from us mere mortals because he's one of the most gifted footballers on the planet but past that he's just a guy like anybody else. The eyes of the world are on him around the clock, off and on the field. Must be a bit like being a bug under a magnifying glass.

So let's hope the press back the fuck off and find somebody else to mess with. Maybe he'll find his form when he's got room to breathe.

I dont think that Rooney has scored another free-kick for United. period.

This is not a dig at him, but his free-kicks lack not only pace, but accuracy as well. It always curls wide at a very comfortable height for a goalkeeper.

LOL on Collymore, cracked me up. Mind you as previously suggested I would rather Marcos Bent!!

As for Rooney, he will come good... He has the best mentor anyone could wish for, keep the faith people and always get behind our players...

None of us really know the full facts on Rooney's antics or what goes on behind closed doors and nor should we...When his personal life is sorted, one way or another and the dust settles, Rooney the footballer will be back....Personally, I hope its for us and not one of our rivals.

@ shmoo

Bellion went on loan to Nice, then made it permanent in June 06. Moved to Bordeaux afterwards and is not prolific. Never seemed to have been given a fair crack of the whip in England despite his considerable talent, but has won things with Blanc's Bordeaux side.

btw, Ruud van Nistelrooy was fucking class.

Don't make me cry from that video :'( cuz I really didn't watch it when I read the title

Anyways, could people just stop being too dramatic saying this is the end of Rooney and blah blah blah...? Every good player is expected to go through shitty times in his career. When Rio was banned for the stupid drug test issue, everyone said he won't be back like he was and it's an early end but no, he came back and he won trophies with United. I'm not saying he came back and scored goals cuz it's not a striker or defender issue. The bottom line is that he came back and fulfilled his job.

Roo's not an angel (In other words, he's not Giggs)

Ah Ruud... How I miss seeing unbelievable finishing like that for so long now... I would love United to sign a striker who is atleast a tenth that RVN was. Predatory athletic technical strikers. They just dont make them anymore.

Now Kleberson wasn't exactly a bad player...he just didn't adjust to the premier league...he was a mainstay in the Brazillian team that won the world cup..cant be that bad ...

Agreed - Kleberson weren't bad but unfortunately he will always be associated as part of the un-Holy Trinity that Fergie purchased in 2003.

Makes you wonder why Rooney never really hits free kicks anymore? I don't think he's ever scored another one.
And yeah, Kleberson wasn't a bad player at all, he was unlucky with injuries and tends to get lumped in with Djemba Djemba, Liam Miller and Bellion.

I miss old Rooney... that time he shot left right, dummy, free kick and with flare passing through .. now he can't even shoot on target! Fergie, please bring old Rooney back!

Costas September 29, 2010
I tend to agree with those that rate Kleberson. He was a good player. It just didn't click for him. At the time, when Keane and Scholes were fit, they were playing. It was nearly impossible for any other midfielder to take their spot. We are talking about our best midfield combo of the last 15 years. We also had Fletch and Phil Neville who were more reliable as cover because, unlike Kleb, they didn't need to adjust to life in England or United.

i wozz derr!

Seriously, though, what a spectacular night it turned out to be. Those were the days (I make it sound like 30 years, not 6) when the Champions League group stages still had a bit of excitement about them.

If I still attended United games, I honestly don't reckon I'd fork out to watch a group game these days. Come to think of it, watching our fruitless attempts to break down the ultra-defensive Rangers was about as uninspiring as football gets.

I had a chill go down my spine remebering that we actually wanted Collimore at one stage.....just imagine that gobby scouse cunt on Talkshite if we had bought him........and as some of you are remembering bad players over the years .....Peter Barnes from Shitty......what a cunt he was...!!
