Since signing for Manchester United, Chris Smalling’s every move is being heavily scrutinised, with the mistakes he makes being highlighted in the press.

Fulham boss, Roy Hodgson, reckons Smalling won’t have any problem with the pressure of playing for United and joked that he is getting all his mistakes out of the way whilst he’s a Fulham player.

“Had he not been signed by United then the criticism would be quite different. But now all eyes are on him,” said Hodgson. “He’ll cope with the pressure of playing at Old Trafford. I’m doing Alex a favour, letting him get his mistakes out of the way at Fulham.”
