Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has become the first Manchester United boss since Sir Alex Ferguson to be named Premier League manager of the month, after winning seven and drawing one of his eight league games in charge.

When speaking to the press ahead of Saturday afternoon’s game against Fulham, Solskjaer has been quick to share the credit for his success with the whole team. When posing for a picture with the award, he invited in the whole coaching staff.

It’s been a great achievement. The team deserves every single bit of credit – they’ve done it. But I don’t look back at being proud of this and proud of that, I’ve never been that way, I’ve always looked forward and not sat down before a chapter is finished. I reflect, but I’ve never [pat myself on the back] and said, “Well done”, maybe I should do more often. But that’s just me.

Marcus Rashford was also named Player of the Month for January.
