“It’s Now Or Tever For Carlos” read the clever headline from The Sun this week, suggesting that Carlos Tevez was on his way out of Manchester United if his future wasn’t sorted soon. The story claimed that his agent, Kia Joorabchian, was growing impatient with the delay in finalising a deal to keep Tevez at the club permanently, with him apparently considering organising a move for the player to Real Madrid, Inter Milan, or The Richest Club In The World (TM).

Joorabichian has moved to clarify these rumours today, saying he has no intention of talking to any other club about a deal for Tevez, who is happy to stay at United.

“Carlos Tevez is not going to be sold in January,” he said. “He plans to stay until the end of the season and talk to Manchester United then. He has a great relationship with Manchester United. There have been absolutely no conversations with other clubs and there won’t be. Manchester United have assured us they intend to sign Carlos at the end of the season. We are looking at next year, then we will start to move the situation forward. Carlos is happy with his position at the club. He is a Manchester United player for the foreseeable future. He is just concerned, for reasons he does not understand, some people appear to be mischief-making. Carlos has a great relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson and (chief executive) David Gill and he hopes that continues.”
