Arsenal and Liverpool looked anything but potential title challengers today. Nor did they look particularly dangerous, they are very beatable and I expect us to give one of them a real spanking this season, preferably the scousers. I am not worried about them too much. The likes of Spurs and Everton (when they peak and play us) will pose more threat when they face us, more than Arsenal and Liverpool will. It will eventually be a two horse race between us and the current Champions (yeuch).

Fze123 - both teams I thought lacked the cutting edge upfront especially arsenal very toothless, and they both have the most unbalanced teams in the top. thats the beuty of united they have the width in valencia and nani, even chelsea have the balance with the likes of maloudo out wide

I wouldn't write off anyone after one game, it's gonna be a rollar coaster of a season, with all the teams dropping points.

I thought AFC andLFC looked like two sides who showed early season rust, to be honest they will both in the mix for the top 4. We might not have signed any superstars but hey we may make one, no prizes for me saying Chelsea will again be the team to beat, as for City I saw a look on B Mancs face at the end that said it all, he knows his team isnt ready and as such he will pay with his job.

I think we need to cut back on the N'Gog jokes. Look at what he did today, lol.

Agreed with willie about the start of the season. Our team is usually slow starters too.

@RTNK

They are the wildcard this year. I did see some signs of improvement today, but then again, everything's better than the FSW's last season. If they do lose Mascherano, then it will be a real blow for them.

Liverpoo won't mind losing bugs bunny, they've got Lucas.

Costas - the wild card is spurs has the irony is, PPL go OTT over chelsea's 6 0 win, spurs could have easily won 6 0 also. liverpool seemed like almost a pub team when it was 11 vs 11, liverpool seemed to do more with 10 but you can tell they lack the real quality in key area's and extra gears to really go for the title.

but when they are relyng on mr glass to score them goals upfront will once again be their downfall

Spurs have a good starting 11, but if they get a few injuries, i'm not sure they have enough quality in the their squad.

I think Tottenham will suffer from the "first time at a Champion's League" syndrome and they will lose a lot of league points while they are trying to adjust.

well serious I dont see spurs challenging but I cant see the scousers or gunners getting close

What a complete cunt he's going to make out of Mancini. I wish Bellamy would stick around just to clobber Balotelli with a nine-iron!

Dunno if its true but supposedly quieroz said in an interview that nani wanted to commit suicide cause of his injury right before the WC.

It this is true what a fuckin cunt carlos quieroz is to take this into public.
what a fucking twat.

Yeah the arse and the dippers looked a bit tame today but I wouldn't get too excited about that, it really means nothing. If you were to judge us by our first game performance in previous seasons, we've started like a mid-table side then gone on to win the league. Some of us are being very hypocritical! We laugh when others write us off after one performance yet are doing the exact same thing! tut tut

On topic - LOL at city. Their squad is a train wreck waiting to happen. Or so I hope. If Mancini manages to keep that rabble happy and gets them playing football then we could possibly be quite decent. Possibly.

Hey guys...I have a big/huge problem...What does KOP stand for?

I know we have added a new dimension this season, ala Chichariro....And think the season's gonna be a close one....Here's hoping beyond hope that we start of well, cos most of the time we start slow, and have to catch up later.....

On Ozil, saw willie say he's on to madrid...Maybe true, maybe false...He's not a United player, and until he's one, I don't care what he's up to...For now I am only worried abt our own players....

Watching Sky Sports News was intrigued to hear Mancini refering United as just 'Manchester'. I wonder what the Citeh fans thought about that!
Even their own mananger knows there is only one club in Manchester and its not Citeh!

@ Go United Go says:
"The Kop at Anfield dates back to 1905-06. At the end of that season
which saw Liverpool lift the second of their league championships the
directors at the club decided to reward the loyalty of the fans by
building a new brick and cinder banking at the Walton Breck road end
of the ground. It was christened as the Spion Kop by Ernest Jones in
memory of the many scousers who died in battle over a hill in South
Africa by the same name during the Boer War.

In 1928 The Kop was altered to terracing and a massive roof added to
protect the thousands of fans who gathered to watch their beloved team
play. Other teams named their stands as the Kop but the one at Anfield
was the original and the best."

It makes me laugh at how so many United fans wanted this bum at Old Trafford. He will fit right in at City.

The best thing is that he will not be a patch on what Bellamy did for them last season and shows their mentality.

You cant buy class Mr Cook

Just thinking about it...the Bebe and Balotelli stories accurately represent the two different cultures and almost two contrasting sides of human nature. Both have had rough backgrounds - one becomes an arrogant, angry misfit, the other remains humble and keeps his faith. One of them is feted by City, the other is quietly picked up by us. Both clubs got exactly the type of personalities they want (or in citiy's case - "Personality? Thtat's selling at a dime a dozen!"). Agreed, that Bebe is yet to come close to Balotelli's achievements on the filed, but if your acheivements start affecting your nature, then that proves the point in some ways.

@GHTT - Maybe you're right mate but if they don't end up champions surely it'll only be on goal difference?! United are fucked, we haven't even got a point yet!

Moscow @ 20:27: "That peno was actually the only one I saw Carrick miss. Shame it cost us the title."

It was no surprise that SAF took that job away from him - too prissy, by half. This is a big, big sieason for Michael Carrick - I figure that he has until Xmas to regain form or else he's going to be gathering splinters in his arse from time sitting on the bench.

I really don't like seeing Carrick play alongside Paul Scholes - Carrick is just too deferential and always looks to give the ball to the GingerNinja. That's not a bad plan BUT it means that Carrick rarely does anything positive when he's paired with Scholes. Michael Carrick seems to play more assertively when he's paired with Darren Fletcherinho (football genius) or Anderson or even Darron Gibson.

Rooney @ 22:28: "PPL go OTT over chelsea’s 6 0 win,"

It was the same last year and the year before but I don't remember what they were up to three years ago. The point is that they started like gangbusters last year under Ancelotti and the year before under BigPhil then came back to earth with a thud over Xmas both times. As far as I can understand the RentBoyz, they are quite capable of bullying lesser teams especially with Didier Drogba in his ruddy health but things go a bit pear-shaped with Drogba when he is either moaning or whinging or niggled or bored or holding out for more money. Team that wtih their reliance on "JT - Father of the Year and Husband of the Decade" and I'm not sure that the team is well-suited to deal with adversity This may be wishful thinking, but I'm not convinced that the sum is quite the whole of the parts whereas with TheLads - who are probably not as "good" on a man-for-man comparison - the whole is better than the sum of the parts. I put that difference down to SAF's managerial genius.
