Jose Mourinho was in the crowd for United’s impressive 3-0 victory over Chelsea yesterday. With Inter set to take on United in the next round of the Champions League, it was a good enough excuse to make the journey to Manchester. However, he wasn’t impressed with what he saw.

“Was I impressed? No,” said Mourinho. “Manchester United deserved to win, but it was not an excellent game. It was an exceptional result, but the game was average.”

Mourinho also revealed that he shared some wine with Ferguson after the match and the pair swapped secrets ahead of the Champions League game, obviously. “Did I have wine with Ferguson? Yes, of course, I didn’t bring the wine though. He had it already,” added Mourinho. “I spoke to him for around half an hour and I told him how Inter will play against them, and he told me his formation against us. We swapped all our ideas.”
