When a Liverpudlian woman met the pope in Dublin last weekend, she asked if he could help with her son's hearing. El papa holds the boys head, kisses him on each ear and blesses him.
Then he asks "how is your hearing now my son?"
The boy replies, "I don't know. I'm not in court until next week."

Mourinho is turning to the fans simply because he has no support from the players or Ed Woodward.
Keeping the fans singing his name (if any are) is his only way of a stay of execution.

Quite simple his days are numbered.

Hahaha.. hilarious mate!

You're spot on about José.. burned his bridges.. alienated his players and is now clutching at straws! Our Match going supporters are the best in the world who gave Moyes and LVG all the support in the world until the end of their tenures so he's not really getting any special support!

Anyone who believes Jose cares about our club and fans needs to think twice about it. The man only cares about his personal achievements. I also don't believe Jose is top 3 best managers in the league. I mean if I was in a 2015 Range Rover sport with a v8 engine and raced Lewis Hamilton in a 4 cylinder 05 Toyota corolla I'd probably still beat him but it doesn't make me a better driver than he is.

Hamilton would have you in his Rolla over your 8 all day ;)

Our problem is we live now in an age where the mentality at the top is, if my opponent can score 2 I have to find a way to score 3..
Yet our manager is of the mentality that if my opponent can score 2 I have to find a way to stop that from happening..
Too busy concerning ourselves with others and it's left us not knowing what to do ourselves!

Greetings

Bittersweet to be back on RoM. As usual commenting on this site is a tech nightmare with all the "awaiting moderation" crap.

There's no point talking about points. As I've always argued. We won't win the league.

I just read something which makes me sick!

Sorry to have to share it with you guys!

Salah, Firmino and Mane have scored the same number of goals as Manchester United since 2017/18 (104)

Tomorrow we shall make a statement against the mighty Burnley. Like we did against Tottengam.

Predictions for tomorrow?
I reckon we'll be playing Herrera and Matic at CB..

Mobi those three Liverpool strikers cost a little less than 100 mil pounds combined. They where not world beaters until they where made to play a certain way.

Burnley are terrible, if we play the same way we played against Spurs with the right players we should beat them comfortably.

Agreed on both counts..

Pereira has been unfairly dropped, hope he comes back into the team tomorrow.. martial does no wrong but is always looked over..

DeGea
Valencia Bailly Smalling Shaw
Herrera Matic Pereira
Mata Martial Lingard

I'd go with that tomorrow..

Expecting United to play any different is folly. Burnley will have a good go.
We may get a result, we may not, you just couldn't have a whole lot of confidence.

On the dipper trio costing 100m.
You'd wonder what United scouts are up to. When is the last time we signed a bargain player who did the business, Example: this summer Mcguire had a good world cup and we were after a player now valued at 70m. Did no-one at United see any promise in him a couple of seasons back or did he just get good at the WC. Same goes for Van Dijk. Obvious at Celtic he was a decent player.
There is more than JM wrong at United these past few seasons.

Whilst I do believe Alderweireld and VanDijk are the two best CB's in the league I can't help but wonder if certain players only become stars in certain teams with a certain way of playing..

Like do you think us buying Salah, Firmino and Mane would see us scoring lots of goals? They'd be lucky to manage 50 for us!

The system has an awful lot to do with it Mobi, no doubt about it and most likely explains why none of our signings or emerging players have really impressed in the last 4/5 seasons.
Hendrix knightsmith September 2, 2018
Gra mar,

I was speaking to a couple of Leicester supporters down on holiday just before the transfer window closed and they said they could not believe United were after Mcguire , especially at that price, and that a couple of good games in the world cup against poor opposition flattered him.

They said he was ok, but not that good .

As usual ,let's hope we can turn the corner today and put in a positive performance against a team that is probably going to be relegation fodder .

Mind you, Sean Dyche is probably saying the same words to his team.

A Luke Shaw hat trick will do nicely !

That says it all Trevor, then we wonder why we have to pay silly money but we're the ones sniffing after a medicore CB for 70m!
Paschal September 2, 2018
If we had salah, fimino and mane.... They might struggle to get 30 goals. Jose will have asked them to park the bus. They will be labouring terribly trying to defend and park buses, no creativity or goal scoring. Lol managers style of play can make certain players become very good while some other managers style can end up ruining a players career and make a very good player become average or worse...below average and flopping

^ that means if we win the next game we'd expect to lose the next two. might as well lose against Burnley and start afresh ? i doubt Jose Mourinho will still be the manager on 15 Sept if we put in shit performance and lose today

My cousin Stephen was on Burnley's books back in the 60's

In those days they were renowned for having a very good youth system.

Unfortunately my cousin never quite made the grade, but continued to play at quite a high standard in the local leagues for many years .

He's not going anywhere as he makes loads of wedge for the Glaziers, and that's all they're concerned about

I read somewhere that he helped engineer the glazers take over back in 05.. if true they will never ever get rid of him.. they're all too busy living their lives in Florida.. they're just the name.. Ed is technically the main man!

It isn't really his fault that most of the signings recently have been shite

After noon lads, how's tricks?

Today's game may have a lot to do on how the rest out season pans out. Lose and that should be the end of that for Mourinho. Only a convincing win would give him breathing space
