Two days before the January transfer window closes, Manchester United confirm that Bruno Fernandes now plays for us, pending a medical.

Having claimed we had no interest in the midfielder during the summer, United suddenly became interested again halfway through the season and spent the best part of a month negotiating a deal for a player who wanted to come from a club who wanted to sell.

Still, all’s well that ends well, and United may now have a midfielder who can make a difference to our performances in the remaining months of the season. With Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay still injured, Fernandes will likely be thrown straight in to the thick of it.
