Manchester United have today confirmed the appointment of Jason Wilcox as the club’s new technical director.

Jason Wilcox has joined Manchester United as Technical Director with immediate effect.

He will work with all technical areas of the football department to achieve the highest standards of performance.

Jason was previously Director of Football at Southampton and before that Academy Director at Manchester City. As a player he won the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers in 1995.

INEOS are determined to recruit the best in position for key posts at the club but struggled to find an appropriate settlement with Southampton. Having initially seen an offer worth a year of his salary rejected, United have now found an acceptable sum to release him from his contract.

Wilcox will be reunited with former Manchester City chief, Omar Berrada, who has already been appointed as CEO. Wilcox, who spent over 10 years with our neighbours developing their academy, left for Southampton last year.
