United beat Watford 4-2 earlier in the season, with Ashley Young scoring twice, as well as Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard getting on the scoresheet. Watford are currently in a respectable 11th place in the league so won’t have the desperation of needing a win on the final day to stay in the league. Abdoulaye Doucouré is their top scorer with seven goals, followed by Richarlison with five.
Their manager, Javi Gracia, was appointed in January following the dismissal of Marco Silva. The club claimed that Everton’s interest in the manager had taken his focus away from the club, with him losing eight of his last 12 games in charge, starting with that 4-2 defeat at home to United. Watford were five points away from the relegation zone at the time of Silva’s sacking.
