Manchester United beat Cardiff 5-1 yesterday in what was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first game as manager. The attacking approach, which exhibited our players’ ability to play quick, one-touch football, was a joy to behold, after being starved of such play for the past five and a half years.

United scored five of the 17 shots they had on Saturday, with Anthony Martial moving in to the top five scorers in the league, Jesse Lingard scoring twice, and Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera also both getting on to the scoresheet.

What was interesting to note was how much further forward United’s full-backs played, with Luke Shaw and Ashley Young having an average position that placed them further forward than two of our three midfielders.

Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole!
