Nine Manchester United players are still dreaming of World Cup glory ahead of this weekend’s quarter-final ties in Russia.

Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford are eyeing success with the England squad, but Sweden’s Victor Lindelof will be eager to stop them in their tracks when the two sides meet on Saturday.

Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini face a massive test on Friday as Belgium take on Brazil. New signing Fred is in the Brazil squad, although he is yet to see any game time at the tournament so far.

Paul Pogba kicks things off for France on Friday as they face Uruguay for a place in the semi-finals. Read on as we look at who is likely to make it through to the last four.

Uruguay vs France – Friday, July 6

France were unimpressive during the group stage, but their performance against Argentina in the first knockout round showcased their quality.

Pogba was excellent against the South American side and national team manager Didier Deschamps will hope for more of the same on Friday.

Uruguay deservedly defeated Portugal in the last round, but France are fancied to win and it would be no surprise to see them progress all the way to the final.

Brazil vs Belgium – Friday, July 6

Brazil cruised through the group stage, before beating Mexico in the last 16. They have conceded just one goal so far, but their performances have been functional rather than spectacular.

Belgium won all three of their group games, but they suffered an almighty scare against Japan in the first knockout round. Robert Martinez’s side recovered from two goals down to win 3-2 and United’s stars played a huge part in the result.

Fellaini scored Belgium’s equaliser, while Lukaku’s superb dummy created the space for Nacer Chadli to bag the winner.

Friday’s game is the moment of truth for Belgium’s golden generation and it wouldn’t be a major shock to see them turn over the tournament favourites.

Sweden vs England – Saturday, July 7

England face their biggest game for years on Saturday, but it’s fair to say that Sweden won’t be pushovers.

Young and Lingard are expected to start for the Three Lions, while Jones and Rashford will be on the bench. Lindelof has been part of a rock-solid Swedish defence at the World Cup and his side can be expected to be extremely difficult to break down.

However, England boast more firepower than their opposition and they can ease through to the final four. A late winner for Rashford would be a great way to celebrate a victory.
