Valencia Will Decide Himself On Future Club

The news on Antonio Valencia has been fairly limitted since our £16 million bid last week, which is likely because nobody is really that arsed. We’re losing a special player to Real Madrid so many of us would like someone special to replace him. Whilst I don’t have anything against Valencia, there doesn’t seem much to him and for the price we’re offering, it feels like risky business.

Wigan’s chairman, Dave Whelan, has given an update on the situation today though, claiming that the final decision on where to play will be down to Valencia.

“United have got a meeting with us in the next three or four days, Real Madrid have got a meeting with us in the next three or four days, and the other team have asked for a meeting,” said Whelan. “We can’t tell anybody where they’re going to go and play. If Real offered £2m more than United, or vice-versa, it would depend on where the lad wants to go.”

It does make you wonder what would happen if an extra £5m was offered though…
