After just seven games in charge, Louis van Gaal has given debuts to seven youth team players at Manchester United. For four of those, their debuts were in Premier League games.

Tyler Blackett, Jesse Lingard, Paddy McNair and Tom Thorpe have all represented United in the league, while Saidy Janko, Andreas Periera and Reece James have played in the League Cup.

Plenty of pundits and journalists have claimed that United have sold their soul, following the sale of Danny Welbeck, so we probably shouldn’t let facts get in the way of their agenda.

Last season, just three players from the youth team made their debut, Adnan Januzaj, Tom Lawrence and James Wilson, and two of these were when Ryan Giggs took charge of the final four games of the season.
