Red Sam @ 5:05: "we need a creavite midfielder right? Why not go for the 30 year old andrea pirlo who is a free agent in the summer?"

Good shout. Pirlo has been a very, very classy player for about a decade - but is he really "just" 30 ? He'd be an excellent stop-gap signing - like LittleMikey and equally injury-prone - if the "big picture plan" is to slowly integrate Pogba, Tunnicliffe and Morrison into the first team over a period of two or three years.

Otherwise, I'd be concerned about Pirlo's ability to stand the pace in the EPL.

No question, though, he sure has more attacking talent that Luka Modric and plays the same sort of "shielding" game as Michael Carrick.

wayne @ 12:08: "sanchez is a red ?

IF this is true then I think it spells the end for Dimmy.

Pirlo? No thanks. We already have Carrick. The only thing Pirlo can give us is a decent dead ball. And if that is what we are looking for, Charlie Adam is a safer bet

Red Sam, according to Wikipedia, Andrea Pirlo was born on19 May 1979. So, he'll be 32 in a fortnight's time. That makes him a less attractive target, doesn't it ?

CedarsDevil - Yeah I think it's getting to a point where we have to laugh at cunts like him mate. He's obviously happy to see Chelsea winning through means of cheating, just like that other rentboy cunt Beasley from the Sun, who said that it would have been a crime against football if Chelsea had lost the game last Saturday.

Going back to what King Eric said yesterday, there are so many blatant ABU's on Sky Sports, it's a joke. Yesterday they repeatedly showed Vida raising his hand and saying that it was a stonewall penalty, yet when Owen was fouled in the penalty area, they mentioned it twice and just forgot about it, going out of their way to try and expose us as cheats, just like they did with the Newcastle game with the Lovenkrands incident. Then when the board went up to indicate how long there was for injury-time, Martin Tyler made his usual comment about 'Fergie time' and that ex-Gooner cunt Smith, made a remark about Fergie wishing it was 14 minutes and not 4. Cunts. Another thing mate, what the fuck were two ex-scouse cunts doing on there yesterday? Souness had no business being on that program yesterday. They are so reluctant to bring Yorkie back now because they know he will back us and fight our corner and they don't like that. I know Summerbee is a bitter blue bastard, but fair enough he defended his old club when he felt it was necessary, even though what he said was laughable, but you know what I mean mate.

It goes without saying how badly I want us to win the title as history will be made and see us winning things is a measure of how good we are as a side of course. But with so much resentment and jealousy and the attempts to fuck us over full in the knowledge of how close we are, wrankles with these ABU cunts, so when we win it I want us to celebrate first and foremost as Manchester United supporters, but I want this achievement to be used a massive 'FUCK YOU' sign to all those cunts who are trying to undermine us. ONE LOVE ONE UNITED.

Excellent posts from Jeet, MG, Kings and CedarsDevil regarding the earlier racist/ Islamaphobic comments. Yes this blog is about football and about United but that doesn't make it a values-free zone, where any old shit is acceptable, quite the opposite. No-one wants to get into endless arguments about politics here but it would be utterly intolerable if anyone got the impression that some folk are not fully accepted in the United family on the basis of the colour of their skin or their religion. Football should be about bringing people together not setting one against another in hatred. Inflammatory language is OK when we're screaming about a ref's dodgy decision, but it's really not when it comes to talking about religious communities or nationalities or people's ethnic origins. It's something I love about RoM that there are United fans contributing from all over the world, from half a dozen different time zones, from every possible continent, and we should celebrate that amazing fan-base diversity. It's the ultimate endorsement of Matt Busby's dream of international club football, and he would have loved the idea of United having a squad with brilliant players from S. Korea, Mexico, Sebia, Bulgaria and a dozen other countries. The only regret he might have is that there's only one Scot in the side - and don't we bloody well miss him when he's out injured!

So come on you Reds, let's stick together, and remember we are UNITED.

@ Kings. Never fear mate. G Nev will be on Sky next year. Hopefully he will commentate on some of our games, it may be biased but no more biased than that boring twat Alan Smith. Watching paint dry is more exciting than hearing him talk. Know he's not a favourite of many on here but I do miss Andy Gray, based solely on the 2 videos above not much ABU there.

Not that annoyed about yesterdays game in all fairness it was away so a win was always less than likely. However just because people point out a few true statements doesn't make them negative, nor should some of them be told to fuck off and go support someone else.

Is nobody worried in the slightest that we are playing the one team who get the most dodgy decisions against us? Who coincidently can go top if the ref's give them a helping hand? Thats a fair reason to be concerned, its not the same as saying we're going to lose but it is fair to say the odds are stacked against us before a ball has been kicked.

There are similarities when I read certain posts between this year and last year and even the league game at the Bridge. Rallying calls, thing is it didn't work. I'll say it again the only thing the supporters can do who are at the game Sunday is to be as loud as they can and contest EVERY decision even if its blatantly a chelski free kick. Only then will we have a fair chance. I have no faith whatsoever in a governing body who bas the manager for speaking the truth for 5 games, bans a player for swearing for 2 and has referees who make bizarre decisions and aren't accountable for it. The linesman who gave Drogbas goal last season is the linesman for the FA Cup final. I wish all of us who were shit at our job were rewarded like that instead of a bollocking and/or a P45.

@MG, Didn't know you had Indian and Pakistani roots mate? Great post covering a wide range of topics as per usual.

For anyone interested in comic relief regarding the big news of the day, please peruse this link about a poor software engineer accidentally liveblogging the raid: http://eu.techcrunch.com/2011/05/02/heres-the-guy-who-unwittingly-live-tweeted-the-raid-on-bin-laden/

Would've been really funny to see the look on his face when he realized he was liveblogging one of the milestone events of our time. Shows the power of social networking really.

And does anybody really think that people are going to stop writing us off if we win the 19th this season? Not a chance, everybody wants us to lose. Same way everybody wanted the Australian cricket team not to win this year's world cup. Same way everybody wanted Ferrari to lose during the mid-2000s. When you are the most successful, you must be prepared for more hate as well.

The reason why we're more hated is because we have no right to be THIS successful. When Chelsea got their way in 2005 and 2006, people talked about the end of an era and how United will follow Liverpool's example and Liverpool and City fans rejoiced at the news. Three years and another 3-peat later, we are once again Public Enemy No. 1 in Britain. Hence, why the F.A. did everything in their power to stop the 19th last season.

I am sure they'll do (as they've done already with the bans handed out) to stop us again this season. Because that is the only way they can stop us. On a straight up battle over 38 games, we would've overthrown Chelsea both last season and would be miles ahead this season.

As United fans, we should not be concerned with all the hate that we generate. It means we are only becoming more successful and they are having less and less options to derail us. Which, in reality, is good news for us?

I actually don't want Red Nev to be biased to United when he starts for Sky. I will be most happy if he calls it as he sees it. Knowing Red Nev as we all do, nothing else is to be expected from him. If it is a Red for United, he'll say it as such. That will further fling shits in the faces of people like Townsend, Summerbee etc. how United can produce the best players and the best pundits. :D

Giles Oakley - Excellent post sir. Yes we are UNITED. Hopefully Fletcher will play a part in the game against Schalke on Wednesday and a major part on Sunday too. I've been clockwatching, impatiently waiting for the next game to come.

Now That The Knee Jerk Reactions have Some What Passed, We Should Look To Schalke's Match.

My Line Up;

VDS
O'shea Ferdinand Vidic Fabio
Valencia Scholes Fletcher anderson
Berbatov Rooney

Valencia (65), rooney(65) and fletcher (45) to come off for Giggs(45), owen(25) and Nani(25)

-Good tactic to rest nani, evra, park, chico, giggs, wazza because they play bit part in the game.
-bundles of experience in the defence, scholes, fletch and owen.
-experience coming on from the bench excl. nani.
- combacts the schalke formation by playing narrow
- can stop farfan with fabio's speed

My only fears is the centre mid's of schalke might step up to overpower a returning fletch, a rubbish ando and a declining scholes :(

also if we go down to 10 man hypothetically whilst being 1-0 down because of a Raul goal !

NotoriousRedDevil - Absolutely mate. He can't be anymore biased than that complete and utter tosser Philnoccio Thompson either.

That's my only worry too mate, not the opposition itself, but the officials who have a soft spot for them. That is why I am absolutely certain that either Mike Dean or Martin Atkinson will officiate the game on Sunday, meaning we could have a battle on our hands before kick-off. My personal preference would be Howard Webb, but as he officiated the bitters game yesterday, the chances of him officiating in Manchester two weekends running is extremely remote. That is why we must make sure we have complete control of the game and make sure we convert the chances we get to make anything else academic - bad decisions from the ref and piss poor calls from the linesman.

What I fear the most on Sunday is the sleeping home crowd that may not be up for it. It is one thing that the proper fans get behind the lads but the majority are not proper fans and some do not even know the songs or feel embarrased to actually sing at all.
That 12th player has been missing for some time but if the fans are not up for it on Sunday then nothing can help the players to perform well.

@ Clint-IamYourPapii - Rooney is unlikely to play on Wednesday, Fergie has already said he's bringing Berbatov and Owen back.

Kings

Yes, exactly !

However Rooney's had a lot of resting periods this season recently his ban was in between a busy time
so He should be fit and firing anyway for the Last 4/5 games of the season.

By The Way, we should all Prepare for the Worst on Saturday, Its The Referees Time To Shine Against us and Impress The Anti- United FA.

Expect us to lose all 50/50's, marginal offsides for and against, foul throws, fouls during corner kicks whilst attacking, Dissent and Chelsea's Physical Assaults being Seen but Not deemed FoulWorthy.

Hopefully we have either Howard Webb 1st :D, Kevin Friend or Mark Clattenburg (2)

An open question to the fans on here:

Why do you hate skinheads and why are the local United fans mostly communists when it comes to politics?
Seems to me the racist nazis follow United away in Europe but at Old Trafford the local commies against nazis rule. United fans have the most fractions of all fans of any club in the world.

We have to play him even if its for the 1st 45 mins and then owen can come on.

Im going to use bayern munich at home last year as a example here:

-Rooneys presence on the pitch raises confidence levels with the fans so they chant more
- The players have higher confidence
- berb and rooney have a great partnership
- he brings urgency
- has the vision and experience to pin schalke back and put fear in them to attack us at our home ground.
-we're likely to score with him on the pitch
- we are admittedly a different team without him
-we'll do our best to kill the game off ASAP

Sadly for the worlds most famous Arsenal fan, Bin Laden, he could not celebrate the win over United that long. I hear that the americans chose to strike during a victory party when Bin Laden and the others were cheering and singing.
Pakistan, so much to answer for!

Wayne. Spot on at twelve o clock mate.

Kings. Hello pal. Great posts. Yeah I agree mate. Cunt is my favourite word too. Sums up non united folk perfectly. It was the last straw for me yesterday that cunt Tyler and smith. Snipe after fucking snipe. Also implying that yestyerday was a warm up for barca. Oh fuck off arsenal aint barca. Heard Cundy giving it large this aft. Fuck off. He played for spurs longer than the chavs yet portrays himself as a chelsea legend. Cannot fucking wait for sunday.

Nrd. Hello mate. That's it though pal. Nobody has issues with people giving constructive criticism but as wayne said after a loss its the same shit everytime from the same heads. I will tell you what the points are: gibson is shit, berbatov is a flop, oshea and evans are shit, used to be park but he is ok now, weak midfield, need a new number two and the best one yesterday from “keano99“ was he hopes fergie falls by his sword come the end of the season and call I a day! What the fuck! I am sure you will agree mate that fans like that have no business at all supporting this great club. Unparraled success yet some want him gone. plastic doesn't even begin to describe these toerags. Spoilt fucking babies.

Swede. Believe me mate the twelvth man was there for the european game against chelsea.

Anyone going sunday do ya fancy meeting for a beer and a quick chat and shit ?

Cedars. Hello fella. Are you even serious? Townsend said vidas handball was one of the worst decisions ever? Fucking joker.

@ King Eric. I'm well mate. You had a good bank holiday weekend? Agree with the guys who spout shit, have no time for them whatsoever. Don't even read their comments. May have misinterpreted what some guys are saying but I feel we need a fine balance between pumping people up and the reality of the situation. Nothing wrong with pointing that out, slating players is ridiculous. I didn't think anybody had a horrendous game, certainly weren't at the races, although I do feel Berbatov should have started if not he should have been brought on sooner. Hernandez needs chances created and we weren't doing that yesterday.

@Clint-IamYourPapii - I hear what you're saying but I think a rest will do Rooney some good, Berbatov and Owen have been there and done it at this level. They need minutes too especially if this race goes to the wire. Hernandez and Rooney have been starting a lot of games. If Schalke go 1-0 up I expect Fergie to replace Owen with Rooney, by that time their legs will have gone.

King Eric - Hello mate. Absolutely, even though that word is too good for them, it is, in my opinion, the word that befits people like them, the non-united folk, the fucking ABU's. As I said mate, them bastards at Sky insist on bringing in people who have absolutely no connection with United, just so they can generate negativity from them and milk it, hence the exclusion of Yorkie as they know he will not say a bad word against us and will back us if he feels it's necessary. Not only is that Redknapp an ex-scouse bastard, but a Chelsea loving cunt too, just because his fat sweaty cousin plays for them. Souness is cunt as well, even more so after his obscene display of affection for Barcelona after they beat Arsenal in the second leg. Dress rehersal for the Barcelona game? These guy's should do stand up. Fucking comedians. First time they beat us in 7 games and all of a sudden they are now Barcelona's equals. Good one. Yeah I heard that orange face cunt Cundy giving it large as well. Absolutely mate, as I said before, they could not wait to get rid of that waster when Spurs came calling, but he likes to make out that he is a Chelsea legend and is loved by all at the club. Get your tongue out of their arse you fucking embarrassment for a human being. Sunday can't come quick enough mate. As I said to NRD, the only thing I am concerned about is who will officiate the game. I have money on it being either scouse cunt Dean or Leeds scum bastard Atkinson. Not worried about Chelsea just the officials mate.

Just watched a highlights replay of the Arsenal match. After the match my impression was that we weren't that bad. After seeing the highlights again I reckon we played even better than I remembered. Then the match stats came on at the end - Shots on target - Arse 2 United 7, Corners - Arse 3 United 6, Possession - Arse 48% United 52%. Just goes to show that we didn't play too badly, any other time could easily have come away with a win or draw.

Makes me more confident that we will beat the blue scum this weekend.

Shut your mouth you miserable excuse for a turd. I fucking hate swedes as much as Hitler hated the jews. If you want to mouth off on here and have a go then realise a fucking evil murdering son of a bitch is on your bloody doorstep. You Swedes have no bloody right to talk about anything, you segregate forreigners, the opinion polls have the nazis at 10% and they hold on to real power in the riksdag (parliament). All this from a nation that whinges are whines about everyone and everything and when it comes down to enforcing your beliefs you crawl back under your stone like a chicken shit. You wanna meet up then we can youtube the meeting.
