Finally we got more than 3 goals in a game. However and as i said in another topic, the injury situation has got ridiculous.I have never seen so many defenders injured. But those are 2-3 week lay offs.We will patch things up for Tottenham with the defence probably being Nev,Vida,Chester,OShea or Fletch,Vida,Nev,OShea or Nev,Vida,OShea,Fabio. Then we will have Evans back for the Hawthorns and hopefully Rio and Wes won't be far behind. For me the real concern is Anderson. He is a very tough customer so if he has left on a strecher his ankle can't be in a good situation. If he goes for surgery he could miss 3 months.

Lets hope at least Brown will be available for the game against West Brom.

It is not fucking good what happened yesterday :(

Hargreaves, Ferdinand, Evra, Rooney, Brown, Anderson, Evans, Rafael ... plus a host of niggling injuries.

Luckily we've probably the best squad in England (if not Europe, etc), both in terms of quality and quantity. Even with no injuries, few teams could field a team to rival:
Van der Sar, O'Shea, Neville, Vidic, Fabio, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Park, Berbatov, Tevez.

Man Utd never die !

O'Shea was funny, for a moment it was like he didn't know how to celebrate, haha. Big concern on the injury front, our players are dropping like flies as each match goes by. One thing thou, I thought Wellbeck looked really poor. Apart from the assist for O'Shea's goal, he wasn't in the game at all, considering we had good possession, I would expect him to have more touches. And even when it came to him, he couldn't hold up the ball well enough. Or maybe we're jus too pampered by Berba's skill?

does anyone feel that the manager might see fit to jump into the transfer market after all the injuries?

Marq, Wellbeck is really young. Of course, on his age Rooney was already brilliant but we can't expect all players to be like this.

And nope, I don't think we have to buy new plaers, we've got more than enough already.

I think we could do with a defender on loan to be honest, I know we've got youth but someone of a decent age, can't wait for Wes to come back, our back four have took a pounding. Though we could do worse than...

Fabio (I so hope he's as good as his brother!)
Nev
Vida
O'Shea/Fletch

I think a loan deal with a defender just like we did with Larsson wouldn't be such a bad thing.Apart from Anderson, everyone else is expected to be back at 3 weeks maximum. But can anyone say for sure that there will not be any more injuries? From what i gather,Evans might not make it at the Hawthorns.Rio and Wes are still uncertain for their return date so the defense is taking a beating at the moment. And take something else into consideration. Our three fit first team defenders(Nev,Vidic,OShea) have played a lot of games recently so they will need breathers. If we don't sign anyone, then SAF must bring Fabio and Chester to the first team squad as soon as possible. With Anderson injured,it's not wise to waste Darren at right back. Finally i am praying that Anderson doesn't have anything serious(if you remember he dodged a bullet in the summer after a bad tackle by Mascerano) or else our two most industrious midfielders will be out for the season.

Didn't we just send him on loan?I think you caught me off guard with that one.If we have a chance to cancel it i say go for it.

And there is always Richard Eckersley and Chester.Man what have we come to?This injuty crisis is even worse than the one we had at the end of the 06-07 season. Then we had lost 4 defenders:Rio,Vida,Silvestre and Neville. Now we have lost 5:Rafael,Wes,Rio,Evra,Brown and Evans. At the least the Champion's league is still 5 weeks away.

Did we sell Danny Simpson or is he on a loan somewhere? When does Frazier Campbell return from the loan at Tottenham? Let's hope Tevez and Berbatov stay fit, we can't afford to lose the attacking line along with almost all the defensive line. But as long as we have Vidic fit I think we'll manage. Rio will hopefully be fit soon.

Danny in on loan at Blackburn until the end of the season.
So is Freizer. Even if Freizer won't play for Spurs till the end of the season Rednapp won't let him return to Manchester.
I think we should welcome back Cathcart. I hope it is possible.
Should we sacrifice the game on Saturday ? Is Wes anywhere near first team football ? Many questions - difficult period.

i admit freely that one of my favourite bits of any match is when o'shea manages to do something great for United. the look on his face is priceless... it's like if you grabbed a super supporter from the seats, brought him on the pitch, and he managed to score.. the look on his face would be, what has come to lovingly be know as, an "o'shea" face. the lad really does make my day when he manages to get it right. love it :)

i agree with costas...this injury list is GETTING VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY WORRYING. ESP Anderson..with that bastard barnes pushing him with his foot planted in the ground...i hope im wrong but it looked like a serious ligament issue. And Costas is right..if hargo was fit no problem...but both our top 2 industrious workhorses gone. not to mention virtually our whole defence. fuck

Injuries are a concern, especially when they are all defenders. Its usually midfielders or strikers that suffer. I am sure we have enough depth to cope but don't think getting a defender on loan would be a bad idea.

Simply got to keep Tevez, the man is quality. It was good to see Nani finally perform summat like. Thought Wellbeck showed glimpses, Gibson was poor though in my opinion. Nev looking back to his best and I would play Foster everytime instead of PIG.

Anyway managed to get through to another final, with 9 men!

King Eric, I thought Gibson had some moments of quality. Right before the first goal he had a period of a few minutes where he won about three or four really strong tackles where I thought the Derby lad was better placed. I thought it was a tremendous improvement from his performances out wide.

Drew Vadar: Yeah to be fair saw those 3 or 4 decent tackles he won but was not sure if it was Gibson. (now I know it was). Don't get me wrong I am not against the kid just thought he played one or two suicide passes.

Well at heast Harry Redknapp has said that he will take a weakened side to Old Trafford because he wants to focus on the league.I have to say that is good news for our defense.I wasn't looking forward to Lennon vs OShea,Pavlyuchenko vs Chester or Bentley vs Fabio. If this is true, then if i were SAF i would give Fabio and/or Chester a run out.We do need some players like Fletcher and OShea fresh for the Hawthorns.
