We can have faith in United doing 5 out of 5. The problem is that Chelsea will go to the Lane and Anfield at a time whnen SPurs and Liverpool might not have much to play for. And we need them to drop 3 points. At least.

A return for Blackburn sounds good. And lets hope that the game will go like the Bolton one did and we won't need him.

But tomorrow, it;s up to our fit guys to do the job.

Sir Alex praised our medical team for getting Rooney in with a chance of starting against Bayern.

@Costas

You honestly feel we can do 5/5. Be honest.I think we will drop points. Chelsea game maybe was our last defeat of the season but certainly dosent look like the last time we dropped points this season. Feel we will rdrp points against Sunderland or city or against blackburn depending on the CL result tom

I am still hopeful that Rooney will make it. I am very surprised that Sir Alex would have given a definite. He would have wanted to keep the Germans guessing. It is possible that he can come back tomorrow and Rooney said he was much better and say that Rooney insisted that he was fit we consulted the Doctors who said that he was fine to play. At least we live in hope. LOL

Whats with all the stress. Chelsea aren't in "top form" and if we had bothered to turn up we would have beat them with relative ease. If they just draw one and we win we are back level on points. Need to get our goal difference up. All those negative people how would you have coped been 12 behind the Geordies in the mid nineties? 2 points is fuck all.

@AIG

I don't know. I am usually reserved in cases like this. But notice that I said we need Chelsea to drop 3 points at least. So who knows for sure? The City game won't be a formality. But 5 in 5 could happen. The problem is that Chelsea face their toughest opponents at a convenient time. Spurs will be knackered from Wembley and Arsenal and Liverpool could be out of the race for 4th.

@willie

Yeah mate, they finally did something correct, lol. It only took them about 50 injuries this season to finally get it right. It's honoable of Fergie to support his medical team, but Rooney and his recuperative powers are to praise here. The medical team needs to be revevaluated in the summer.

we can speculate on what will happen until the cows come home - the best we can do is put faith in our team and hope it is not misplaced - I certainly beleive we are capable of 15 points, with or without Rooney - it's just a crying shame that Chelsea have one hand on the trophy already, and we need them to slip up!

@King Eric

It's not the same mate. 12 points was in January of 96. It's not about negativity. But sorry if I don't have confidence in both Spurs and Pool getting draws out of Chelsea. Ask me to support United. But I can't have faith in these teams. Particulary at the time that they will play Chelsea.

Lets forget about the GD. We won't reach Chelsea's.

@King Eric

all you said i would have believed had we even got a draw on saturday but after that performance and that defeat it isnt all rosy. Its about what someones opinion is. why is it when someone says he dosent feel united can win all the games he is not being negative. how overconfident some of us were that we would 'hammer bayern and chelsea'. didnt happen that way.

And Chelsea have very easy home games so no doubt they will increase the goal difference there. But you never know, who would have thought that they would have drawn against Wigan at home in the closing stages of the league last season.

The league could be done and dusted in the next few games. Blackburn and City away are tough games at this time of the season and we need to win them both as i can't see Chelsea dropping too many points in the run - in.

We should risk rooney i say and put him on the bench.....his presence there has an incredulous effect on us and our opponents. When you look at a bench and see someone there LIKE HIM...you have faith. Chelski had doggy on bench and that buzzed them up.

If he couldnt walk fair enough...but it seems he can train and play a little bit.....so ok not starting...but even if he came on with 5 mins left with us needing a goal..thats better than filling the bench with mr averages aka gibson et al. I dont want to see players who aint gonna get on, who fergie clearly doesnt trust and would offer us nothing.

We ve got to attack and gamble...simple. That means put him on the bench...including obertan, diouf, macheda and will keane, nick ajose and whoever else that can attack...

fuck the playing the safe game...4-5-1...blah blah blah...

time to play with Gay abandon.......where has cautious got US in the last week????

time to put it on the fuckin line.....or else our season could be over by tmrw night

BAYERN will score...i dont doubt that at all....SO

ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK...

And i hope the fuck arseholes get knocked out today..

I DONT WANT NOOOOOOOOOOO ENGLISH CLUB TO WIN THE EUROPEAN CUP........esp NOT THOSE COCKNEY LAANDAN TAAN SOUTHERN SOFTIES.

I mean c'mon barca ripped em and should have won the 1st leg 10-0. And those bastards got 2 lucky goals with wallmarts miss cued shot and francescas dive AGAIN!!!!

AND YET THEY WERE acting like they had contributed to the game of the century..when infact they had been roasted for 70 mins...with the stats looking like something you see on the stock market.

I mean c'mon

1. Why doesnt francesca get brought up on these dives...puyol..last year same spot fletcher?

2. They make out they play this beautiful nicey nicey football......well barca made them look like schoolkids

3. They're in the title race after having been thumped at HOME BY BARCA, BY CHELSKI AND BY US.

4. And due to their manager and his constant whinge and blindness and self martyrdom..." we get hurt" "mummy i got hurt" " we dont like tackles" " anti football" comments and the incidents with ramsay and eduardo.....team ramsay tshirt bollocks and the worlds against us bollocks and milking it for all its worth. Now look at whats happened...you cant tackle the bastards anymore....you have to play netball with them. Shawcross red..90thmin goal. Boateng red 93rd min goal. Henry red 94th min goal. Wenger the pricks words and constant bleating has worked on the fuckin fickle fa and refs in this country. You can touch em anymore...protected.

5. As for wallmart..pace this pace that....whats the use of pace when you cant fuckin control the ball and dont know what you're doing.....i could run 100metres at school in 11.2 secs...but i could control a ball when i played footie.

Hope barca do em.......and no matter what we have to accept how good barca are...i mean c'mon the possession football is a joy to behold...bar the total football of the dutch in the 70's and the 1970 brazilian team..which some say was the greatest team ever...i feel there is no comparison to them

King Eric - well the game against chelsea was more to do with the fact fergie got his tea selection wrong, add the fact neville played 1 game to many and scholes has been over used. brown and anderson picking up injurys has really been a bitch when trying to freshen the side up, because when anderson was brought back into the team against porto last season he offered more legs to the midfield, it happened 2 years ago anderson came on against wigan and he offered such energy and it carried us through for the next phew months, we dont have that this time round and it has become costly

We might as well keep going now and try to win the remaining 5 games as points may be dropped when least expected. If we don't win another trophy then we'll just have to move on. There will still be plenty of positives to look back on in this season. We had the privilege of witnessing Nani's revival and Rooney blossoming into a monster of a player. If Arsenal or Chewsi do win the league though then I will go into hiding for a good 3 months or so until the celebrations and wankfests are over.

I think the players we have missed most through injury are Anderson, Owen and O'shea. We could afford to drop Fletcher and play Ando instead. If Owen was fit Fergie would have partnered him with Berba in a 4-4-2, a formation that would have worked better in his favour against Bayern and the Renties. If O'shea was available we could have given poor old Evra a rest and rested him for the bigger games. Result = team would have been kept more fresh due to more players available for rotation.

Fze123 we all have very good CM players but we need in my eyes a outstanding midfielder who can dictate our midfield because we are short of a world class CM to be the glue that holds the ship together

Now that Arsenal proved(even for 20 minutes) that Barcelona aren't the invisible side that every media outlet has wanked over, I don't care what happens today. There's a good chance that whichever team qualifies tonight will fall victim to Inter in the semis. If they get past CSKA tonight.

One thing that's for certain imo is that Arsenal will not reach the final. And I can't see them conceding less than 3 tonight.

class video i think we developped a huge winning mentality that if we lose one game we go crazy.
as for bayern they don't impress me at all we just kept giving them the ball for the secong leg we have to control the game most of the times when you control the game you control the result.

c'mon reds don't let us down at the end of the season.

Whoa.the speculation going around here is going crazy.I know its not really in our hands with regards to the league but all we have to do is just be focused and win the remaining 5 games. And its absolutely appalling to see the vast contrast in comments.Before the chelsea and bayern games, some fans were going on about how we can thrash anyone.and ever since the chelsea game, some have been dissing the team.always,always the same typical hypocritical reaction from some fans.saying "i can't see how we're going to win bayern.our season ends tomorrow" etc,isn't a characteristic of a United fan.Hope stays-until the final whistle blows.every United fan must have been thinking about the vila 3-2 win last season when Macheda scored against Chelsea.We hope that we could nick it at the last minute,but this time is wasn't to be(cos it was BROAD DAYLIGHT ROBBERY).but that's what United and we fans are all about-BELIEVE.

jay...fans care hence vent there anger and opinion...every fan is entitled to that. Dont you think every fan whether optimistic or pessimistic...confident or otherwise will not be supporting the team come the next game????

Rhetorical question......fans react in different ways...life would be fuckin boring if we were all monotonous robots.....remember we're all utd fans....and we all care and love the team.....and being critical is part of that.

If you smack or criticise your kids...do you love or support them any less??? noooooo

Mara...you answer your own question...in enland things have improved more than any country on earth...this country was the capital of hooliganism here and abroad. English fans were the most notorious and hated in major tournaments..the carnage they created...euro bans etc etc etc.

England fans are widely really well behaved compared to then...and definitely some of the racist, violent, homophobic, weapons shit you see in turkey, eastern europe, south america.....thos places 30 years behind the english game.....and a 100 years behind the multi cultural diversity of the uk

@Rooney the New King. Mate last evening I was simply suggesting our midfield is great in a defensive sense and for stoping play,I have no gripe with that aspect of it.
My point was and is,I dont think we have the necessary cutting edge for the future.In the not to distant future we are going to have say Thank YOU very much to Paul, Ryan.
Fletcher is great,Carrick while having a poor season is very defensive minded.Darron Gibson is young gets you an occasional goal but hardly an intricate forward passer of the ball on the deck.Ji Sung is well himself, energy great at harrasing causing urgency in our opponents,but again hardly going to give you that defence splitting pass.Anderson is beyond me,I know he is as box to box as Darren but I just dont ever see him with the Gulie to open up a defence.
You were communicating with FZE123 at 16.09 today, you are repeating exactly what I was saying last night. I simply throw in Fabregas as my suggestion to indicate the type of Midfielder we are desperately going to have to find and soon.I know people think I play football manager or some other imaginary game I dont.Its just what I think is required and offer"a name" up as a soloution only.
Other lads will have there suggestions,but I like my choice.lol
It maybe well be fantasy but its staring us in the face the cracks are simply being papered over just now,and a dammned fine job they have done.I will be very surprised if we start season 2010/2011 with this same midfield personnel.

@King Eric "6 fingered Inbred" I know you are not, I did not call you that, I was implying you are a thinker about the team and the future.The past is behind us, you can learn from that only mate.All I was trying to raise was the lads thoughts on our midfield and its viability in seeing through say the next 3 years.However me being a stubborn bastard I will not get the thought of Fabregit at United out of my head.lol
I am fully aware its a nigh impossible to visualize it, but one must never give up hope.
