And one more thing...believe me...if i know what is rivality, history...that is me. But in words you use, i dont see that type of "its hatred of rivalry, competition, history, tradition, success failure, personality, character, culture, industry, economics, mentality..." but ok...i dont leave in UK...that is the reason why i dont maybe understand...
In Croatia, Dinamo and Hajduk...you can t imagine what are those fans ready to do for their clubs.
Last time we played in Eu against one club from Romania...they beat police, throwing glass bottle on the president of the club...we almost get kicked out from Europe...
In EX Yugoslavia...they are not fans...they are killers. In Serbia is no different.
once, they waited fans from the other club on the highway, stoped them and burned their car...
Against Udinese, they stand up, raise their arms like they saying hello to Hitler and made a Nazi cross with their body s.
And now they want to make a one league with Serbian and Croatian clubs...i think that fans would start world war 3... :)

rooney the new king April 6, 2010
King Eric - I can guarentee rooney will not make the bench, we do not want to sound weak by rushing rooney it would make us seem like we rely to much on rooney which is never good. but machedas return maybe that ace in the hole to get us through to the semi's, the team owe the fans and especially the boss a good performence and get out of this rut we did not need at this time of the season.

redscot - while we are at it why dont united try and sign fernando torres iniesta essien while we are at it, for christ sake we are not the fascest, the club pays the scouts a good wage to go out there and find those gems that are waiting to be found, and I will be happy if united bought a midfield destroyer and play with 2 defensive midfielders and let the width and frontmen do the craft, we dont need a creative midfielder we just need a midfielder who can go in there and take control and bloody well help the likes of fletcher scholes etc, hargreaves may solve the problems but will he ever return fit only time will tell. there is not much wrong with the squad but it needs fine tuning with a couple of additions thats all. united have tons of flair players, we have scholes valencia nani giggs look at cleverly tosic and welbeck coming back on loan we have the beast from manc land in rooney even berbatov can offer that eye of the needle, its just needing that top class midfielder to band it all together again that can help our other CMs its the glue that holds the ship together again has carrick done in 2006

Sell Rooney and buy Merson.

Drink joke. Sorry if it was in bad taste. :(

About football rivalries. Every country has a ferocious rivalry. Mara mentioned what happens in Croatia. I've heard that Ajax and Feyenoord fans in the past used to organise meetings to have fights. In Scotland things can get rough between Celtic and Rangers fans. And over here in jolly old Greece...There is a rivalry between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos fans that used to be about life styles and beliefs. Today it's just for stupid reasons and it has become so bad that 3 years ago a fan was killed. So yeah, I think fans outside England can relate to the hatred between United and Leeds. We just might not get where it comes from.

im in south africa and weve got 1 of THE greatest derbies here (no jokes) between kaizer chiefs and orlando pirates. . .the level of football here may not be upto standard but its always good to watch this derby. and the fans here are real crazy, the vuvuzelas and that lol. . .some fans bring raw carrots and lettuces (dont ask me why lmao), telephones, and loafs of bread. . .its real crazy but great to watch

I hope we are not rushing rooney back here. Dont think he should play to be fair.We CAN get the result without him. We needed him more for the chelsea game than for tomorrow. If he plays it will be great but unless he isnt 100 % we should not risk him

Hmm, the Wayne decision will be a big one. The way his injury and his shocking comeback are coming along, it's reminding me of Beckham in 2002. Got an ankle injury in the first leg against La Coruna, rushed back for the second leg and did his metatarsal. If there is a chance we can have him fit for Blackburn, lets do that. United can beat any team at OT 1-0 without Rooney.

@huzi

I see. As I said, each country has one. Shame that the carrots get wasted like that, lol.

yeah very big decision indeed. . .i say have him on the bench and then when/if we need him (similar to the moscow game- i think) then bring him on.
lol so true, just yesterday they played in a cup match. . .went on to penalties and chiefs won lol

i am totally against seeing rooney rushed back. i know the lad is as fit as a horse and will probably talk fergie's ears off trying to convince him to let him play, but it's not a good idea. altho i wouldn't mind rooney pulling a fabregas (NOT the barca clash), forget who it was...villa i think. fabregas came off the bench, scored twice and was subbed off again. hahaha! that was hilarious. the gaffer knows best, but we've seen players being rushed back from injury ala fabregas (barca) and torres (against utd at anfield) and then having to spend longer in the sidelines. not worth it!

anyway, fergie said he's going to go for some major changes today....UMM why did he not do this against chelsea? when the whole world and their grandma could see how obviously tired scholesy and neville were. i love our old guard, and i think football will be dealt a cruel blow when they decide to hang up their boots, but come on!!! they can't play 3 games a week :@:@ let's hope the lads can turn this tie around and make history!!!

as for the dippers, i don't see them doing us any favors in the league. who knows? maybe someone will pull a wigan on chelsea...here's hoping...

saddly that is not the first time ive read you saying that

the last time was his last speedy recovery

@GHTT

I don't remember the last time, lol. I know I mentioned the Beckham thing last week. Just repeating myself I guess. :D

Speedy recoveries can be tricky though. He could come back and get through the match unscathed. No denying that. Lets just hope we get it right, because a recurrence of his injury would be awful. Not for England of course. For us. I've heard talk about Capello not worrying and stuff. Well, it's not really his business anymore. The injury problems with Rooney started because of Capello.

morning lads.

I think it would be a bit ridiculous to rush Rooney back - it would send the wrong signal to the naysayers that we rely 100% on him, which is simply not the case - I think having him fit for the remaining league games is more important, but on the flip side, the Champions league is still in our hands, whereas we need to rely on other results in the league... it's a tough one for Fergie, but if I am honest, I don't see Rooney taking part tomorrow evening.

spurs have to play the top 3 teams in a row in hopes of ending 4th
When United beat city at the wastelands it comes down to the last 2 weeks of the season for someone to make 4th

liverpool have to,they just have to, put there all into there game against the rent boys
they have champions league money on the line champions league football and a chance at getting better type of pplayers because of champions league football

that must be more important than united getting to 19

mustnt it

Thats what i was worried about yesterday with them drawing with birmingham...
If they dont win their next 3 games, then it might be they are already out of it by the time they play chelsea.....so they might throw that game....

I cant believe I'm saying this but I hope the scousers win their next 4games on the trot....

Basically, aside from United, I am a massive Tottenham supporter for squeeky bum time... We need them to do one on Chelsea, one on Arsenal, and it would be bloody entertaining if they beat Liverpool as well... but based on this weekends dismal performance, I am going to be one dissapointed wannabe yid.

thats asking too much from them. they will avoid defeat against Arsenal but chelsea will overcome them easily. Honestly think the title is out of reach now. There are more factors that favour chelsea than us.We also have to play city and sunderland away and both of them are in good form We need to win tomorrow and give the CL a good shot.If we go past bayern we should make the finals. The way Chelsea are playing they can win at WHL and anfield. Surprised by their form because after their CL exit and draw at blackburn i thought they were going to implode but they have hit top form at the right time

Still angry. The worst isnt the ref and linesman didnt see both pens and the offside, as well as the pen against us at SB - the worst thing is that they did see it. And if, god may forbid, we loose the top spot in the end, it is due to these bad decitions. Nothing else. Now for supporting both dippers and Spurs if only just for one day each.

The way we played on Sturday I do not think that even Rooney could have done much to change the outcome. I thought the personel and tacktics were wrong. I think Fergie is worrying too much how the others play rather then the opposite.

I have always thought that at home we should allways play 4 4 2 and attack as we used to .

I fear for tomorrow night if we continue to be negative.

wtf....is right...!
I am fed up of this whole hargreaves issue now......God, wasn't he supposed to be training anyway as well as be on the bench already?

absolutely ridiculous situation we have here.....if the man had any loyalty, he would return half his wages during his rehabilitation period....

I agree. We were the ones playing home, not the other way round. We needed to win all three points instead of playing for a draw and preventing them from scoring without having any ideas of how we can threaten at the other end. Playing 4-5-1 against Chelsea was a big mistake. They players didnt have the right frame of mind, which effected their performance greatly. I just felt that Fergie had an eye on the Bayern match, which in a way took away the urgency from the Chelsea tie.

2mrw I would like to see a completely different United team. We need to attack and play the football we are known for, instead of being concerned about out opponents.

All the bench talk was to motivate him. SAF and most of us know by now he wont play any part this season. WItha full pre season behind him next year we can expect to see him in action regularly

The mirror said he has a secret training session and we know they often write trash. Rooney surely hasnt had a full throttle training session after his injury so i dont think he will play tomorrow. the city game is where he will make his return.

With the situation we are in right now Hargo must play a part in EPL. He is healthy, trains for months, what's the deal ? Cautious approach ? Maybe give him a pre-season and then 3-4 games in reserves ? Oh cmon!

Rooney and Hargo were long shots to train full force with the first team this week. The best news to come out of the training session is that Sheasy is back. We've really missed him this season.
