They did outplay you. Much the better side you should be delighted with a point.

I though that this match showed how much we are lacking a creative attacking midfielder. Not sure about today starting 11. Unlike United, it was more about not conceding than scoring ourselves.

We hardly created any thing worth mentioning today. Only thanks to Chicharito and DeGea (wonder where are DeGea haters today?) we got something out of the match. Will hate the look of the table tonight.

@Dannysoya. They actually did outplay us for much of the game, thanks in no small part to Fergie's conservative approach and a referee who was doing nothing to protect United's players, allowed Liverpool's players to get away with one cheap shot after another (note the Suarez kick on Evra that ended up getting the United skipper a yellow card) yet sanctioned United's players constantly for the same offences. All in all it was a pretty dreadful and dreary game that exemplified all the worst aspects of British football, with neither team having the least idea regarding what possession football is supposed to be about. But give credit where credit is due guy, because other teams don't just turn up to allow United to prance around looking like world beaters. Liverpool put in a decent shift today and played to what the ref allowed them to get away with. And United couldn't have played any worse, as epitomised by Giggs' howler. His selection in midfield highlights exactly why United have major issues that all the early season hoopla masked, which is that our engine room is a classless bunch of workhorses lacking creativity or drive. Cleverly is the only new addition to an area that has long needed addressing, and Fergie's answer is to always try and make up for class by stacking the area in most of the big games. But when there's no creativity it becomes a pointless exercise of bodies simply do little more than crowd the middle of the pitch - why do you think Wellbeck looked like a complete passenger for virtually the entire game?

I hope we find a bit of form soon because as much as I love and back United to the hilt, I've watched Chelsea, Stoke, Basle, Norwich and Liverpool. With the exception possibly of Chelsea, ALL very poor teams who we have failed to dominate and in some very lucky to not lose. City next and we really need to get our house in order. Really don't rate Liverpool and thought we'd put a marker down! Let's try and stay injury free midweek and start again in the Derby!

Well Liverpoo are average but this fixture is their most important game every year. So you can't compare that, besides they battered Citeh at home too.
I've got faith in those boys. If we have to step up we'll do.

This was the worst MU in years to play us yet we we got a draw by cheating.Adams was a disgrace.Gerrard Man Of The Match ,my god he was shocking.Very Butch Wilkins obviously fancies him.Has Liverpool gone forward under Dalglish ,not on this result.

Smalling was superb ,especially in the 2nd half. Lack of match fitness was visible during the 1st half but improved as the game moved on. De Gea was Very good as well, he is improving game by game, I believe he will be a great GLK for us in matches to come. I was surprised with the team selection but most important is that we did not lose. Hope to get Vidic fit for next week so that we will return where we belong i.e. on top. Still I say we need a good Marshall in Midfield.

Jesmonta - Smalling was class, but when isn't he? Made a mockery of Scott the Red's bold prediction that "Smalling almost certainly wouldn’t start, given the cover we currently have in defence”.

Had a quiet game attacking-wise, by his high standards, but he was probably instructed not to go forward too much. We gave the rat munchers far too much respect. The line-up was a joke tbh and it came as a surprise to no-one that we dropped points at that dump, yet again. Roll on Wednesday against the part-timers from Romania. :D

Thank God Chicharito saved our bacon. Scouse cunts. Fair play to Marriner for calling it down the middle this time.

Positives of the season so far. After 8 games last season we only had 14pts which only included Liverpool as top 6 opponents that we faced as well as typical tricky ties at Everton and Bolton. This season we have 20pts and have already played Liverpool away, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal at home and of course the 2 trick ties away to Bolton and Stoke! Our form had been sketchy throughout those opening 8 games as I recall so at least we've shown what we are capapble of with a full strength team! Come on Reds, lets Rally and shut these blue fuckers up who have already started texting me "We are top of the league" bollocks! Shit, if we did that we'd run out of credit!! I wonder if their website will still only show the league table from 2nd down???

Oh yes, thank God for David De Gea as well, with that incredible save from Suarez late in the second half. The guy's reactions are incredible. Big Edwin wouldn't have got anywhere near that, God love him.

That said, their goal was an absolute joke. That fat toothless potato-headed jock twat dances through our midfield and defence like he's Diego Maradona, makes the most of Rio's clumsy attempt at a tackle. From the resulting free kick, Stevie Slopehead literally PASSES the ball THROUGH our fucking wall into the goal.

soccerisfootball - yes indeed. I wonder if in the buildup to United-Liverpool games from now on, the media will claim that Liverpool defenders will be having nightmares about Chicharito, and how Chicharito tears the Liverpool defence to shreds every time he plays them. That's the myth they used to perpetuate about Fernando Torres and our defence after he scored in two consecutive games against us.

Somehow I doubt it.

considering how many big teams we've played, tottenham, liverpool, arsenal, chelsea, collecting 10 points from a possible 12, and how many big teams city have played, i'd say we are in a better position. A lot of people are blaming the lineup but i think Fergie didnt want his prize assets injured and wanted them fesh for the city game.

i can't believe some of the comments i've read on here since the final whistle. IMO positives are few and far between and i was hugely unimpressed with the tactics on display today. Sick to death of this formation and that formation and this line up or that.. These lads are capable of so so much more. And here we were today allowing teletubby adam run around us in midfield, hell even hendo the horse looked good.

I got really worried when the gaffer said he was looking to curtail our attacking instincts, i nearly choked i remember it clearly, Some how he's done it and slowly but surely the football level has dropped steadily since the Chelsea game, you could even say the Le'Arse game. I said i was sick of formation talk but for fuck sake who recommended Danny play on top on his own? Second point and i'll bang on about this till my last breath or until its sorted out. What in Gods name are we doing about our midfield. If SAF is willing to try out Jones- 19 yr old newcomer who hasn't had a chance to get a breather is thrust into the CM playing a high octane game at Anfield, why are we not giving other youngsters at the club the same level of opportunity.

I'd have taken Mame Diof and Danny on top supported by Park and Young if the gaffer wanted Wayne out of the firing line and wanted to give Hernandez a breather and couldn't be arsed to give Dimitar a chance. While it may seem like i've said a lot i'm just skimming of the top here. I'm relieved we didn't lose but thats about it. i haven't taken anything else away from the game- maybe except the excellent DDG. I thought this was supposed to be a Huge match for us and yet we're happy with this point. Well i'm not, far far far from it. We played the attacking free flowing stuff in pre-season and the early days and are now prepared to settle for the safety first approach? Excuse me but thats bollox. The cheek of it, we went for muscle and Pool went for guile, shit team that they are couldn't take advantage of situation we were in but from the 10th minute it looked like it wasn't going to be a good day out.

I'm trying to get off the tobacco , it'll be hard but i think i can do it and in the same vain i'm just not going to delve into United performance anymore, debating it is pointless. I'll just stick to the results and watch quietly, Eagerly awaiting the young and up and coming to stake a claim in the squad.

no seriously, i understand the form thing, but last season's top scorer needs to make an appearance every now and then. Berbatov must really love the club coz he knows he could be making more money elsewhere and playing regularly. In a way its unfair, really

You Just Gotta Love This Team October 15, 2011
Folks should keep perspective. Important CL game on Tuesday (not Wed). Lost to Liverpool last 3 in a row. Wayne's mind and unknown at this time. So SAF goes for a defensive line up with fire power in reserve. What happened? All key players to make sure Tuesday works out fine had a light day (u know who they are). The team did not lose (improvement over last few years)....so whats the beef? We were always going to drop to second as City would always gain the goals against Villa. Fans need to start looking at the bigger picture if you wanna second guess the great man.

Diouf? He isn't ready for a game at anfield. He barely makes an impression for the reserves. Fuck me some cunts do moan. A good fucking point to me at anfield. THE toughest game of season. Fletcher poor? I thought he had a decent enough game. Cleverley to come back soon. Fuck the bitters. They aint played any cunt yet. As I say happy with a point there.

Do some people not realise how fucking hard it is to go to that dunp and get a win. Even when sheasy got that woinner it was a smash and grab. I would have taken a point before the game. Our squad is huge when you look at the bench. Surprised to see Jonesy start in midfield. Form accounts for fuck all in these games. Every decison goes their way at Anfield. De Gea was top drawer. Evans did ok. It was obvious we had to pack the midfield seeing as though we have been over run there. Its there fucking cup final. We have had some fucking tough games and only dropped four points. At very tough grounds. We have no right to turn up and win two or three nil. Its not how the game works. Why do folk moan and bitch all the fucking time if we don't win ? The formation was odd but fergie wanted grafters in there. In hindsight probably the wrong call but that's football. Let the bitters enjoy their time at the top as we will take the cunts apart next week. As I say they have played no cunt yet.

Is wilkins an adopted scouser now? His commentary was a joke. Its a maraton not a sprint. We are considerbaly better off than usual at this stage. We are getting key players back and will be fine. Some perspective please.

At last a few sensible comments.

You went there today looking for a point and spent the first 60 mins lumping long balls to Wellbeck. Exactly what you deride other teams for doing at OT.

Liverpool were the better team and deserved to win a poor game. You were very poor BUT got a point from a difficult game the very thing that the likes of Liverpool don't do which is why you win the league and they don't.

Oi watch it with the cunt stuff.sheesh. what the fuck are you on about. Diouf isn't ready and Danny was/is ? don't get me wrong he's come up in leaps and bounds but to stick him up there on his own at Anfield? Expecting a bit too much from him in my opinion. My point was two on top is would have been ideal. If the boss was worried about his temparment, fair enough but to stick him on there on his own and knowing how we've been careless with the ball it was not the right call. Forget tactics formation, the shape was wrong

@ redallover: "What a stupid bitter little comment. They were far better than you today which leaves you where exactly?". Yeah, we didnt play that well today and Liverpool looked better. Yet we still avoided defeat and got a hard earned point against a team that would have put in more effort than most to beat us. That is what I call championship winning form.
