Manchester City fans were applauded for respecting the one minute’s silence in 2008 which marked the 50th anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster. They also sang a chorus of “there’s only one Frank Swift”, the former City goalkeeper who died in the crash, for the first and what would appear to be the last time.
Every derby day since then the song has been heard, as have the fans making aeroplane wings with their arms. Several City fans were ejected from the stadium for mocking the disaster then after the game this video footage was shot.
