Denton was taking the piss lads.

Fucking Meirles? He is just a fucking ponce full of tatts and daft hair. Not a bad player but wont make much difference to the Chav's. Glad they didnt get Modric,

Who are these good players Dogleash has bought? Downing? Henderson? Enrique? Adam? Average at best.

Doghouse - Yes mate Tom does remind me of Becks in his naievty and ways. Said that to a mate last year. The innocence of youth. He is a top pro by all accounts and doesnt even play on the computer or games consoles. He would rather practice and practice and become a top top player, which he will. God I am excited by this season.

Oh forgot abouit Arsenal. Ballsack is a lanky cunt, good in air but decent forwards will terrorise him on the deck. I like Arteta but he has a very poor injury record and as sky like to make out he aint a fucking leader. They still need that steel. Oh and Benayoun? Not bad. Not great.

Great news about our financial figures.
Well done Glazers and once again full backing of Sir Alex in the transfer window.

I'm glad they didn't Modric. The lads a class act. The dippers got good money for Meirles. Don't see that being a big loss for them. Arsenal lose Fabregas and Nasri and replace them with Arteta and Benayoun. Says it all.

Well the initial reports on the accounts look good.

Am looking forward to going into the details of the cash flows and the nitty gritties...
I hope its not the exchange rate effects and one-offs that has caused this kind of a result.

Cause otherwise it looks fantastic....And if the Glazers can reduce just a bit more debt using the proceeds of the IPO, then I will take back all my criticisms of them....

I must admit I was very wary of the business model and the tremendous risk it posed on us...And a HUGE AMOUNT of credit must go to Sir Alex for almost winning a 5-peat and getting to 3 Champs league finals and a semi-final in 5 years...that kept the money rolling in, in the midst of recession...
Some credit must also go to the Glazers with their deals to raise the commercial profile and the fee-based commercial income of the club...

Get the debt back to within a 100m pounds, and with the kind of talent coming through as well, the next manager will not only have a fantastically talented squad at his disposal, but also cash to tweak around if he wants to....

I dont understand the hype surrounding the transfer deadline. It seems like on deadline day unlike on any other day during the summer or season an ordinary player who couldnt make it into the first team for Shitty(Bellamy) or a midfeilder from a less than average team Arteta, on deadline day they are superstars who will turn around the fortunes of a team?? None of the entire lot being celebrated last night would make it in our reserves!!

@ wayne. Thats good news something to throw back in the ABUs who say we owe a billion.

@ Red Riding Wolf. Mick Harford? Thank fuck that didn't happen.

@wayne

That 308 mn figure is the Net Debt figure...the Gross debt is bound to be much higher than that as the club has got a bit of idle cash in the books...but no doubt the situation is much better seemingly than what it was a year ago...i Still cant find a link to the detailed accounts though.. :(

Hi mate. That's taking into account the money in the bank (around 150 mil) isn't it? I prefer to think that that money will be used for Heskey, Bendtner and co. :)

I think lot of people are missing the Paul Pogba in the midfield setup, I don't know if he can play the enforcer role, but have heard great things about him here, and would trust him more than M Vila or De Rossi and this includes Phil Jones can also play there. Thank fuck wesley is staying in Inter, please love more of your Italy, I don't think TC is there yet but the more he plays he is going to get fricking good

@Red Devil oh ok mate still those figures look really good,if the Glaziers go ahead with the floatation Utd could be soon debt free.No question the business plan put in place is working.

@Costas yes it's disapointing Arse and Stoke got all the 'top players' deadline day and Utd got nothing, same old story Utd always miss out and we have to make do.

Mr Papii is in the hizzza-house 8)

Even though we didn't sign a midfielder this summer, I don't think we need one
now but maybe one next summer or the year after. why?

We got Carrick, Fletch,Giggs,Ando,Clevs,Park, Gibson.
Carrick has realistically 2-3 years left at United. Giggs-its his last season. Gibson is leaving next january & I genuinely believe this is Park's last year at United after signing a 1 year extention.

This leaves us with the opportunity to bring in Pogba/Tunni. To replace giggs we bought Young, but we need a experienced head to lead the young midfielders and plus replace the ability of scholes and giggs.

Hopefully we target a quality player in the same bracket as Sneijder. Im sure we will.

( Does anyone think we'll sign an Asian lad to replace Park? With our fan base - why not?)

Well, I've finally got my hands on the full set of IFRS accounts and the numbers make for fantastic reading.

Costas: You're right, the gross debt still stands at 459 mn.Net debt stands at 308 mn with cash on the books almost 151 mn. However the purchases of Young, De Gea and Jones nor the sales of Wes Brown and O'Shea are included in the year ending accounts, so you can say reduce the cash by 45m approx.

Operating Profit is almost flat from last year 64.4 mn vs 63.1 mn last year....although EBITDA is up almost 9 mn, it is offset by the reduction in profit on sales of players.

Profit before taxes is 29.7 mn including an unrealised forign exchange gain of almost 16.4 mn. My hunch of Dollar fluctuations affecting the profit figure turned out to be correct. remains to be seen whether such gains will actually materialise into cash in the future, but nevertheless even after deducting that, we have a PBT of 13.3 mn as against a profit of 5 mn last year (again net of unrealised losses/gains)

A fantastic cash position of almost 151 mn (approx 106 mn after the current year purchases and sales of players)

Gross debt by EBITDA is almost down to 4.1x, which is a decent multiple but still a bit on the higher side (my personal opinion)

Wages will be on a continuously rising trend as players contracts are re-negotiated upwards in light of Rooney's contract, players graduating from reserves to First Team squad, as well as the wage inflation brought about by City and Chelsea. So we need to be continuously successful on the pitch to keep the wages to revenue ratio under control. the full effect of the wage re-negotiations with Valencia, Hernandez and Smalling and others will come in next year

I Hope some of the proceeds of the IPO are used to buy-back even more of the debt by the Glazers in addition to paying down the funds borrowed to release the PIK's

If we can continue to increase the commercial income, future financial position looks much better than it did a couple of years back

@wayne

I do agree that there seems to be an ambitious plan in motion. I believe a couple of years back the debt was around 760mil. So well done to the Glazers on that front. Getting rid of the PIKs helped immensely. However I have to admit that I am a bit concerned about how that happened and whether it's something that will come back to haunt us in the future. I hope not.

@Red Devil

Thanks for the details mate. Yeah the summer signings and the subsequent net spending will appear later on. However, I believe that the total amout spent on wages will be down this season. Some players did sign new contracts, but we also saved about 205k a week in wages. So all in all the total amount spent in rebuilding the squad wasn't excessive. Not by Man City standards anyway!

King Eric - Hello mate. Thanks.

Yeah he is a fucking idiot. Giving it large about the players he took a fancy to and none of them fancied a move to that shit club. Instead of that, half the clowns he bought have now fucked off. Wasn't that baby head cunt Lassana Diarra supposed to be close to a £9m move before the close of the window? Well it certainly got all his lickspittle mates at Sky excited. Nice one Arry you silly cunt.

90+ @ 13:15: "I think lot of people are missing the Paul Pogba in the midfield setup, I don’t know if he can play the enforcer role,"

At the moment - subject to SAF's tinkering - UTD don't play with someone in "the enforcer role". For a terrific analysis of how TheLordOfFerg has set up his team see:

http://www.unitedrant.co.uk/latest/why-fergie-may-persist-with-youth/

Meanwhile, the point made by Troy @ 9:45 seems spot-on to me. "We didn’t need Sneijder. We already have a player who plays in Sneijders favourite position, and that is Rooney. Rooney gets injured, then Berb’s or Giggs can step up."

I would add that "Berb's or Giggs" are warming the bench, keeping that spot warm for Paul Pogba. This is part of SAF's policy of "evolution not revolution".

Assuming that the golden trio of Pogba, Morrison, and Tunnicliffe ALL come good then what's the point of splasing-the-ca$h on the likes of Sneijder (or Modric or De Rossi or Schweini) ? Instead, the money not spent on these veterans will be used to keep the troops happy which is why we'll be seeing announcements of contract renewals (with huge wage increases) for Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Chicharito and others. This, too, is part of Glazernomics - wages can rise because income is also rising yet the wages:income ratio is still under 50%.

Kings - Nice one pal. Yeah babyhead Diarra was close to a deal last week according to sky. Beetroot must have told them through his car window. Tell you mate . If he spent less fucking time talking to those cunts and concentrating on his squad they may be doing better then being rock fucking bottom. Cheeky cunt even asked Vida and Rio what they thought to Adebayour? Do your own fucking scouting you chancer. His strikeforce is absolutely laughable. I have never seen a greedier player than Defoe. Next time you watch Spurs just watch that cunt. All he does is shoot no matter where he is on the park.

@Red Devil - thanks for your insight into the figures. Could you please share the accounts if possible.

The numbers do make for good reading and certainly show that we are headed in the right direction. Hopefully, the picture is as rosy as it seems. We are yet to know how the PIK loans were financed as also the status of the interest on the 500m (?) pounds bonds issues 1-2 yrs back.

King Eric - Exactly mate. That's why that cunt will always be a loser. You don't see Fergie sniffing around Sky, licking up to the reporters and joining Stelling in advertising the Sky Fantasy Football. My mates old man knows Barry Silkman and he said that he, Venables and Redknapp are all the fucking same - wheeler dealer cunts always looking for easy money and are happy to fuck people over. Yeah if he actually dedicated more time into managing the club rather than whoreing himself for a job at Sky, he might make Spurs a half decent team. Yeah fucking hell, I have never seen such a greedy cunt like Defoe. He must have had about 5 shots on goal in 2 mins during their game against City game last Sunday. Watching him and that other egotistical cunt Adebyor should be good for a laugh.

Yes the window is shut!
SAF does great and early business. Time to settle.
TC and Jonesy wow what a future. The mention of Rooney mad them smile, playing golf cool. What a leader.
Now for the real business of RoM and the great discussion of knowledgeable life long fans who have played the game growing up.

My humble pie has a hint of rhubarb... nice Mrs Cedars or Costas must have made it.

You guy's know I went through free agents with the break up of the 85 Bears and went through many of your same feelings, and over time I excepted contract stuff that pissed me off and would rather have the player have the $ then the owner. Rooney fucked up but is worth the $ and the lads love him. See how they lite up by the mention of his name. Priceless..................
