Seems like a decent enough person. Clearly last seasons cluster fuck was a learning experience for him and he's done much better this time around

Juventus are on the hunt for new signings and are reportedly interested in United winger Nani and Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku - I wouldnt be shocked to see Nani leave infact I would be very surprised if he was still at United on September 2nd, maybe he will be used in a ackage to sign Vidal

Juventus are reportedly closing in on the signing of Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra. Evra signed a one-year contract extension with United eight weeks ago, but the defender has since been allowed to leave Old Trafford. - Dragging on this deral, hope it falls through even though its looking likely he will leave.

Lol yeah that's bullshit he signed a new contract last year with no buyout clause so Dortmund could get as much money as possible if he did move
Apart from Utd being interested you'd see Rent Boys,City,Madrid and Barca show interest, with Luis moving for 50 mill and quite frankly he's dogshit,Hummel would be in the 60 to 70 mill range

justin - yeah im starting to see a bit of momentum in the hummels rumours. they bring in a new centre back, he is writing in english on his twitter, he has said he would like to play for united one day. have any of you guys actually seen him speaking english?....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxuw4fkg4QA

i think his english accent is better then mine!!!!!

to me it all makes sense though, LVG loves his ball playing centre backs and hummels is one of the best for that. a few weeks ago i was saying i dont want him but after some closer inspection i do really rate him. hummels and evans will be a good partnership, both have great passing ability and leadership skills

tommy - juve seem to be splashing a bit of cash, i can see a departure from them coming up very soon

He's 2/5 with the bookies to sign for us and apparently it will be announced this week but it won't be for 16 mill that just doesn't make any sense,if true Utd would have to break the bank to get him,why would Dortmund give him away?

@Wayne

That 16mil is all over the place now, I just saw like 15 different football related sites tweet that its been accepted. I agree that's way tooo low but crazy shit happens. Hope its true, but like you I seriously doubt it.

Juve are doing a lot of talking for a club that's not planning on selling players. Our apparent lack of interest in other targets suggests to me the club must be confident of getting Vidal.

Odds mean nothing on players moving mate, all it means is the club hes most likely to join if he leaves, Garey was 1/12 all last summer to join United, the odds dont include a staying at current club option

Tommy I know mate Strootman's odds were suspended last summer just pointing out there's been a big movement towards Utd but if true won't be for anything close to 16 mill

Dan Young July 21, 2014
tommy - garay was actually set to come until moyes stopped it, so technically thats quite accurate from the bookies. if we get hummels for £16 million il be shocked, but if they do end up becoming tough negotiaters we have the likes of nani, hernandez, kagawa who are possible options for us to loosen their stance .. if they were to have one.

people look at the deals like luiz for £50 mil but thats the oil rich clubs being idiots. i doubt dortmund will bring luiz up in discussion when discussing a fee for hummels cause everyone in the world apart from psg knows how fucking shockingly bad that transfer fee is, infact it makes them a laughing stock.

the fact his english is literally perfect tells me its always been his plan to be in the premier league at some point, and this could be the perfect time for him, so for that reason it could be difficult for dortmund to keep hold of him. firstly, united are by a long way the most attractive club to play for in england, and seemingly on the look out for a regular starting centre back. all other british top teams have settled partnerships or are already signing defenders .. arsenal (koscielny, mertesacker), chelsea (terry cahill), city (kompany, mangala) and im in no way convinced liverpool are attractive enough to bring in top players. for that reason i dont think the price will be so inflated

Dan Utd also paid 30 odd mill for a 19 yr old fullback it's all relative mate.Hummels is rated one of the best CH in the world add that to the fact all the big teams need new CH's unless i've missed any signings and Hummels specifically left out a buyout clause so Dortmund could get maximum return on him,the fee would be North of 50 mill.Dortmund's already come out and said Hummels isn't for sale and Hummels is clearly not going to push for a transfer all the above factors add up to a lot of money needed to get him

wayne barker July 21, 2014
with the debacle of last season's transfer window i find it highly unlikely that Woodward would tell everyone there is no upward limit to Utd's spending and watch this space unless he was very confident a big signing or signings are close to being completed otherwise he makes himself look like a right cunt,Just a matter of who it is
  • Log in to Reply
Dan Young July 21, 2014
north of 50 mil would make him the most expensive defender in history. whilst i agree £16 mil is ridiculous id be surprised if its over £25/30 million.

as for shaw theres the typical british premium and the fact he is 19, just came back from the world cup and was voted the best left back in the premier league last year .. £30 million sounds about right to me when taking all of that into account. but i do see what your getting at that its all connected i just think north of £50 million may be a little bit over the top. yeah luiz was £50 million but am i right in thinking the 2nd most expensive defender was £30 odd million?

city seem to have wrapped up mangala to partner kompany, barcelona are publicly chasing methieau from valencia, real madrid are more interested in goal scoring midfielders and over priced strikers, chelsea, arsenal are all set, he wouldnt ever go to bayern, italian league wouldnt appeal to him (in my opinion), liverpool arent attractive enough .. seems like a clear run to me without any bidding wars

wayne, my moneys on hummels and vidal. then the rest will depend on how certain players get on on tour and how much we can get for them if we sell them

@Dan Young

Theirs loads of other examples, like Kaka was 1/5 2 summers ago to sign for United and their was no chances of that happening, Ronaldo is currently still fav to sign for United but hes not going anywhere, Thiagog was pretty hugh odds last summer. You get youre money back if the player dosent move so they offer low odds to put people off incase a player moves even if a move is unlikely, Hummels may sign, i wouldnt rule it out, but thats how the bookies work their odds out. Also people who are in the know and find out about certain deals being in the pipline will stake say 10k on Hummels to moving to chelsea at 5/1, bookies will react and lower his price and the same man will place 20k on Hummels to United and he eventually joins United but because he placed the original bet on chelsea the United odds would have increased, very smart from pro gamblers

Dan who do the Rent Boys have?and Barca maybe chasing someone else doesn't mean they wouldn't be interested.Simple fact is mate anytime Utd go in for a player other clubs get involved, just the way it is.If Utd could get Hummels for 25 mill in this transfer enviroment would be a very good deal, just can't see one of the best CH in the World going for less than a 19 yr old relatively unproven fullback,i guess only time will tell

Patrice Evra has signed for Juventus. Gutted to see him go - all the best, Pat.

Evra's message to the fans:

After a great deal of thought I have decided the time is right for me to leave Manchester United. It is the biggest decision of my career as this club is, and will always remain, in my heart.
Joining and playing for Manchester United has been a privilege, a dream come true and my time here has been so memorable. Through the good times and the bad times we have all stuck together and remained loyal. I have always said you don’t just join Manchester United, you join the family and long may that tradition continue.

This club is steeped in history and I feel privileged to have become a part of that. Over the past nine years I have met and worked with some incredible people, many of whom will remain friends for life. I would like to thank everyone at the club - teammates, coaches and in particular all the staff who made every single day in Carrington or at Old Trafford a special day.

An immense thank you to Sir Alex Ferguson for making it all possible, for giving me the privilege to be a captain, to be inspired by the legend of Manchester United and to understand that nobody is bigger than the club.

My biggest thanks go to the fans. We have had some fantastic times together, we lifted all of those trophies together and that night in Moscow will live with us all forever. Every single time I stepped out in that shirt I knew I was playing for the badge and for a very special club.

My passion for this club will live on and I know you guys will go on to enjoy more success in the coming seasons.

Just like to say thanks for the memories Pat, a player who really 'got' what it meant to play for United. By all accounts we got a transfer fee for him as well when he could have left on a free just a few weeks ago.

Surely Daly Blind is a must now, would provide great cover both at LB and in midfield.

Tommy,

There is a Norwegian girl I know, she is lovely, I refer to her as my second favourite Norwegian , she asked why ?, and I explained.

Next time I saw her she said she had googled Ole , and said being referred to as my second favourite Norwegian is quite a compliment .

I can't make my mind up between Pat and Eric as my favourite Frenchman though

Let's hope the paddy deal gives us leverage and goodwill with a move for Vidal. We really need a player of his calibre if we are going to compete this season. He would complement Herrera.

The Hummels thing is building.

That Malachians guy on Sirius FM has tweeted that Woodward has left the tour. I can't see the news anywhere else yet.

If true then this could be an exciting time.

Vidal > De Vrij > Blind > Reus and a top quality, solid with no petulance right back and we'll be once again make the opposition fearful and our supporter excited.

Dortmund won't part with both Hummels AND Reus, so given that Luiz has spectacularly fucked up the prices of what even a moderate ability would expect to go for fee wise, I'd go for De Vrij instead of a Hummels who would surely expect to go 40-50 million plus because of what the fuck-head oil monied owners at PSG have shelled out on the curly haired buffoon from Brazil. Reus would give us skill, pace and penetration either down the left or centrally. Given that LVG appears to place a great emphasis on versatility and intelligence to be able to play in a number of positions, Reus has shown this time and time again for Dortmund.

I can see Kagawa going the other way as part of the deal, which I'd be sorry to see but we're not Madrid who seem intent on buying up everyone and just filling their squad with superstars.

Come on Ed, make it happen......!

Do you have some specific agenda towards Sir Alex? Seems like you are on a campaign to discredit the man's achievement.

People has been accusing Sir Alex for the Moyes downfall, maybe its the right time for him to explain himself. Especially after Moyes has been sacked.

He can give an interview to MUTV or any media outlets/ social media to express "how and why he fucked up" for free. Why update his Autobiography!?

Ferguson becomes " fish in the sandy beach desperate to jump to ocean" without spotlight/limelight. And.....the way he published his Autobiography and went for promotion when the club and his chosen one was struggling and now this new fuss of his mess and Jason ferguson and Jorge Mendes, Rock of Gibraltar ...........................man knows how to make some cash.

Bro, I have above in my mind I express it. Simple as that. :(

Very sad to see Paddy leave, wish him all the best!! For me, Paddy's a legend. He has real passion for the club and I'm gonna miss seeing him marauding up and down that left touchline. His parting message brought a lump to my throat.

If only some of our other players could have as much passion as Paddy did, players like Anderson and Nani, they'd have been a lot more effective and successful.

No mate its just baffling to see that in ROM. Sometimes these so called fans forgets that most of them follow United because Sir Alex had a vision to make United as massive club in the world. He made united shine in the world stage and attracted them follow united. Then they try to undermine the man. Like books sale gonna make him richer than he already is. Maybe they are jealous or maybe they are just a Scouse in disguise and want to destroy our beloved club and Sir Alex's reputation.

@Trevor.....cheers mate.

@John......where's that sandy beach quote from? Fuck me some people are hell bent on destroying SAFs legacy. You have to wonder why? Jealousy is all.

They look at United when he took over. A club valued at £20 million. He left it worth £2 Billion. That's the legacy. He took over a club where OT was creaking at the rafters and left a 76,500 amphitheatre worthy of the Roman gladiators. He joined and our sponsors paid us £500 k for the shirt deal (Sharp) he left us with Chevy giving us £53 million. He joined us on 7 titles he left us with 20. He joined us with one European Cup and final. He left is with 3 cups and 5 finals. He joined us when Adidas paid £1 million to supply our shirts now they are paying us £750,000,000. United are now so big that last season Scudamore of the PL came out and said he was worried because the drop in overseas viewing figures had collapsed with Uniteds failure.....no other team could make that impact and SAF was responsible for building that following. That's his legacy.

Mendes? What has he got to do with anything? Or Jason Ferguson? He was screwed over the Rock, but it's funny he isn't allowed to discuss the matter as a request from Coolmore as part of the settlement. May I suggest the bitter fuckers would have loved to screw Fergie and the media would have loved the story so why did Coolmore want it hushed up?

When the book came out there were still more questions than answers for all sorts of stuff, maybe now he can reveal all.

Why shouldn't he cash in? He's devoted his life to United.

It's the moral tub thumpers who make the noise against anything SAF does. They tend to be ABUs looking for any angle.

I mean haha when Keane was asked about the book he said "What another one".....guess who's writing another one lolol

Well mate, it is done to make money no matter how you put it. It is to make money and good for Sir Alex to keep cashing in yearly. Money no matter how much you have isn't sufficient. :D Normally, you expect someone like SAF to use MUTV or club official website for such obvious fuckup stuffs update.
