I made a list of who I thought were the best 11 to ever play the game on the other thread..... This team came third in my opinion. For anyone who loves the game its a MUST see.... I know Willie will remember it as I posted this link many moons ago

Cedars - I remember mate lol. Brazil 82 team were an awesome side. Without a doubt, thee greatest team to never win the world cup. A travesty, if you ask me. As for the boss....25 years and counting!

Willie

Not just a travesty but probably one of the biggest shocks in football when Italy beat them 3-2....Where the hell did Rossi come from? Bugger sprang to life and scored a hat-rick ...Crap before and after that WC he was...

I do not care for international football, least of all Brasil, but in all honesty I was totally shocked at that result...... In United terms I would just about compare it to our defeat to Oldham, 92 or 93 cannot remember

Take that team, make them wear red, through in Robbo and Best into the formula and you would have the best football side that ever existed!

Those who know their football or at least its history would appreciate what a frightening prospect the team I mentioned in my previous post (At 14:10) would be

Footballing orgasms of the highest order

Wasn't Socrates a Doctor? The beard made him stand out. a lanky player but produced perfectly weighted passes. He could judge the pace of team mates and pass at just the right time with just the right weight for them to run onto it and smash it first time. Have to agree about that team. A bit vague now, but I remember Careca (?) Josimar and a few of the others.

How are you buddy? Miss your witty posts

Socrates was/is a doctor, hence I addressed as such! Terrific player he was, one of the best passers of the ball that will ever exist.... Platini can simply fuck off

seen this some time back but still brilliant.
So vital to recall that United were bottom of tha league and sh*t when Alex took over.

NOTE TO SCOT: There is something wrong with the audio, Very hard to get it to a decent level/volume on a standard computer.

Thanks for this blog Scot the Red, great video, my first real look at the women behind the great man.
Cedars the 78 WC was my first I payed attention to and saw a few games. 82 was awesome what a team. I remember Rossi and since my dads parents came from Italy I was happy they won.

Hi Zibbie

The 78 WC was great, that Dutch team were epic, not as good as the one in 74... Yet 2 finals and 2 defeats....

FletchTHEMAN - Hi, sadly great teams some times do not win just as I suggested to Zibbie... Football, bloody hell eh? Closet Gooner? ME? hahahahaha

I mentioned this on the other thread, only 2 teams can better that Brasil side of 82.... The BABES and Hungary of the late 50's
