so maybe the whole controversy of Lahm's statement that he wants to be captain even when Ballack comes back created a bit of dissent in the German team atmosphere.

See, even when he is not playing, Ballack finds ways to make sure that the team wont win a cup!!!

@bigphil2003

I hope it's the former, but you can never tell. With Robben's pace and with the Spaniards constipated in front of goal, it could be evenly matched. It can't be worse than the 2006 final...

Everton really dropped the ball. Gosling isn't as higly rated as Rodwell, but to lose him on a free like that? Reports say that West Ham or Newcastle could be his next club.

@RedScot

Toff? Picture the scene in Goodfellas with Pesci and Liotta when the latter is telling the former you're a funny guy

RedScot - you are a funny guy : )

My dear Costas is reserved for Costas only it's not a Toff thing - it's just as a former number seven would say polemic : ) It is what it is

Thanks for the Toff thing but I assure you there is no ounce of Toffness in me : )

@Costas

Yep funny how the Europeans say Manchester - I mean in reality like I said there is only true club - the other one is just a wannabe - oh what fun are we going to have with them this year...

Schweinsteiger?????? For god's sake Bayern are not a selling club like us . They haven't sold Ribery yet and presumably if they sell him it will be for their advantage only . They are financially better than most if not all of the major clubs . Best bet would be sneijder or look somewhere else for an unproven talent

The main signings we need are replacements for Ferdinand and VDS (and Vidic if he fucks off) - we have a decent midfield and a few good prospects coming along in that area. Upfront - Rooney/Macheda/Berbatov and a few potential prospects. Admittedly we will need a new Scholes and Giggs but we have a few who after this World Cup will impress - Da Silvas / Nani / Valencia etc + Cleverly + Petruzzi + Macheda

Cannot say I have seen anyone but Ramires from Brazil who has impressed and who is fit for our club.

All this talk of sign this one and sign that one is unnessary as SAF has a succession plan everywhere except for centre back and keeper (so it would appear)

All them that have had a good world cup and who everyone says we must buy - 5/6 games (only) will be well priced and old(except Muller and he will not leave bayern)

Why buy for the sake of buying - trust the man. The Govan God has been doing it for a few years now and does know whereof he speaks

Will see what is on offer youth wise next Friday here in Toronto when we take on Celtic

Brilliant to see Aon have changed their logo to red from purple

Sayyid says:
@daveob82

These Germans may only be good playing in a certain formation in that German team

Take them out individually and you get Klose who scored less goals than Hesky last year

Podolski who scored 4

Ozil, who didnt do much in the Europa League

A bayern team full of Germans who we should have smashed if it werent for that ref and us conceding 2 stupid goals just before FT and HT in the 2 matches

______

exactly - if Schwiewhatshisfacer is worth 30+ million how much is Fletcher worth? Im not knocking any of the German lads but c'mon....

Sneijder on the other hand, he's the right age and he's a proven quality player. I'd be happy if we bought nowt but if we did go for a central mid who else on the market is better than Sneijder? Great in Italy, great in Europe, great for his Country. Thats Class. The reports on Benzema are interesting too. I know he's not the most popular player in Manchester and its not popular to say it but that boy has aloooot of natural talent and he was a beast before joing Real, scoring for fun and carrying his team on his young shoulders. Real didn't buy him because he was SHITE did they? Regardless where he ends up he made a huge mistake joining the cut throats. But he's still young, and with Jose at the helm it will be interesting to see how his career pans out. Will he stay or go? according to reports we're after him, and I wouldn't be surprised if Alec did go for him again. For starters he can sit in the middle as an attacking mid off a Striker as well as play out right and up front... (Ducks Fruit)

I hate those Cunts. Never mind Klose did fuck all for his Club while Rooney had his best ever Season. Don't let those things called facts get in the way of a good Story aye? Never mind Capello keeping Crouch on the bench and an off form Wayne on the pitch. That was Rooneys fault. Oh, and apparently Wayne doesn't deserve a Holiday with his Wife and Child either. Unfuckingbelievable.

dailymail.co.uk is reporting that United have bid 29 million for Sneijder and are interested in Balotelli.

If this is true, i'm glad to hear that we're in the market to bid that kind of money.

and as far as balotelli goes ... we don't need a winger, but at 19 years old with that much raw talent, I think he could be a perfect fit for the club.

he needs to leave Italy and SAF could be the perfect mentor for him.

would love to sign him, but like someone said it's very unrealistic. Plus I dont think Bayern would sell him at any price. Anyway, I'd like to see Ando and Hargreaves make a big impact next season.

A couple of days ago, I saod that ecen though Fletch isn't a better player than Gerrard yet, he is a better player for Rooney. Here's why:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jul/08/manchester-united-wayne-rooney-darren-fletcher

@arijc

No money for the wages but they have money for Fabregas. Head scratching...

Snijder would be great at United although I don't see it happening....He seems like a loyal player and would want to defend the Champions League with Inter who showed great faith in him last season...I don't undersatnd why we didn't go for him last season its really baffling....We should probably go for Marty Feldman instead...I mean Mesurt Oezil...lol....would be a cheaper and more realistic buy...

@arijc: Real Madrid, Barcelona and a minnow club were the only three Spanish clubs made profit last year. Haha haha ha..

Barcelona have requested £125m of loan to pay player's wages. The millions they received from Man City and Shakhtar Donawhatever were not enough, and them still wanting to get Cesc Fabregas is beyond me (however, they'll get a super sub if he ends up in their hands. If I were Arsenal, I would not release him unless they pay £50m+.

Also I heard they owe Arsenal (they didn't pay Hleb and Henry transfers).

I hope both Barcelona (Arsenal customer) and Real Madrid (Manchester United customer), bankrupted soon. Can't to see them sinking.
