he has got his moments.. and seems like a nice guy..
but I feel like we have too many players who need more regular playing time, and we
could eventually end up with a bunch of squad players..

I hope that will not be the case.. But I am a bit worried.

Thanks. I was just wondering how many midfielders he was playing with. At the moment, I feel that his best position is as an advanced midfielder with two CMs behind him. He is closer to the opponent's penalty box.

I also wish Ando could shoot like that. Just got to hope Gibson comes good and SAF Sees something in him that we don't. Got to keep thinking Fletcher, although Tomlinson and Greening keep springing to mind ATM.

I tell you what, that was a very special goal. You see plenty from that position of the pitch, but Darron was wearing their defensive midfielder like a cheap suit and was running at pace.
Top goal. Class to keep it low, keeper had no chance.

That's the kind of opposition he thrives against and should play in the championship? Seriously? He scored the first goal against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford and sunk two past Spurs last season too.

Sure he's not on good form at all now, I'd be the first to admit that, but credit where credit is due ffs. Nice goal Gibson.

We will see. At the moment, and with everyone fit, it's not easy for him to start. But if Fergie needs him, I'd prefer to see him play there instead of the wing or sitting in front the back 4.

i have never been over when we have played shitty, but i have been over to the likes of arsenal/chelsea/hudcap thieves, there was always an alcohol ban. but found a place called the greatstone hotel, not too far from old traffford and its always open nice an early, bit of a shit hole but it does the job get nice and toasty before the game

What an absolute cracker! Give the lad a break folks, he never gets a run, he's almost always in a completely new line up, with strangers all over the place, it's no wonder he's often shit. He scores goals no-one else in the team can, and does so too often to be a fluke. I'd like to see him pushed up more, but then I'd like a lot more players pushed up. Too often when we've got the ball out wide these days, there's only one player in the opposition box. I like to see red shirts swarming like angry bees, stinging over and over again. In a more aggressive formation you'd see Gibson cracking a good few goals. I'd rather win 4-3 than win 1-0.

Its well known he is capable of scoring belters but his all round game leaves a lot to be desired, his lack of mobility is a big concern and could be exposed at the highest level, for some reason though the manager believes in him despite all the critics being skeptical.

Will he be a starter? hm, i doubt guy (but then again look how fletch turned his career around), however he'll probably end up aswa squad player at best, we have better prospects in the youth coming through.

I'm no doubt one of his greatest doubters. This goal is just another of his "trademark" shots which unfortunately don't come regularly enough for us in the PL.
80% of the time he gets the ball, the first thing that comes to his mind is to take a shot. How many of you really clap your hands and call it a good effort when he blasts the ball into the stands?
Sorry but comparing him to Berbatov and/or Nani is just too much of a disparity.
Don't forget, our old boy David Healy scored for fun whenever he was in the national shirt.

I believe that gibson is a player who was screwed by the loans. He was superb in our reserves but seems to have gone backwards during his loan spells. If he wants to stay i have no problem but he is 23 now. If he wants to create a name for himself then he has to play regular football..

What a belter ! We all know that he has that in his locker - it's the rest of his game that is suspect at the highest level.

On a related note - apparently there's a rumour that SAF is considering a surprise move for Javier Mascherano who is pissed at Barcelona. 18 m. quid is the estimated cost; which seems a trifle dear for a guy who can't push "Biscuits" onto the bench.

All he can do is shoot. Sick of fucking hearing that. Did you see his give and go for the goal. How can he get any rythym when he plays once every three months? An average player just does not score the sort of goals gibbo does. Fuck me. If only anderson could do that but can he fuck as he is so one footed. Gibson is both footed. Fergie ckeartly has hopes for him. Time for some to get off his back. Say want ya want but he is the best goalscoring midfielder we fucking have.

Denton. Hello mate. Is anyone REALLY surprised that mascherano hasn't displaced busquets? Busqets is the better player imo. Good holding midfiellder and a great passer of the ball and still young. Mascherano is out of his depth at barca.

Maybe you mean "best scoring central midfielder" but even then, he's nowhere near what Paul Scholes was doing for the team when Scholesy was 23.

Anyway, I'm as critical of him as I was of Fletcher in the past, so I'd be happy for the club if he comes good and proves us doubters wrong.

I was ecstatic for Eagles when he scored that brilliant counter-attacking placed shot in the last game of the season some years ago - next moment he got sold. I have a sneaky feeling that if the club ever gets an offer for Gibson, they wouldn't say no and would either sell or nego a bit.

I look forward to seeing the return of Cleverley. I just hope he wasn't talked up / loaned out for the sake of putting him in the shop window.
