A great result - I think that Manchester United have it, and they know they have it - to go all the way and get a 19th league cup. A great way to end the weekend!

We didn't do well before Torres scored. but after this we changed the game and Torres was totally marked by vidic.

ooo, looking at it again, Mascherano does let go of Valencia just before he enters into the box, then Valencia goes to ground. I think we were v lucky to get the penalty there. Foul outside of the box, definately, but it didn't carry on through, and Valencia had one thing in mind i think.

Still, 3 points, and Chelsea drew.
We are top of the league, said we are top of the league!

has anyone else noticed what a f....ing crybaby Torres have become?? he just makes me sick to watch him making handgestures all the time, deliberately trying to influence Rooneys pen and after that throwing abuse at the ref... He must be very proud of himself... But, I suppose I would have been pretty upset too if I had spent my best years as a top footballer playing for a sinking ship of a club that is going absolutely nowhere... He is a very very good player but for his despiccable personality alone I dont want him anywhere near our team even if we got for free!

I agree with Jorgen about Torres and his whiney self-pitying honorary Scouse petulance. Someone should tell him to 'calm down'. I thought that scuffing up the penalty spot was the absolute pits. I've never seen a top player pull off a stunt like that. I hope that's taken to the FA video panel for ungentlemanly conduct and behaviour likely to bring the game into disrepute. Really shameful stuff.

On the other hand, for those like me in the Sofa Stand, wasn't Michael Owen a treat as a studio gueast? He's very articulate, not afraid to express strong opinions, and now completely United. I hope he's used a lot for Sky coverage through the rest of the season. .

The chance that Torres missed at the end, did the ball bump up at the same penalty spot which he had earlier kicked before rooney took his penalty... the commentators were talking about it for sec.
Also can any one tell me why the sky commentary team so ABU...some of the things that they say are so bizarre...

Masterful work by Rooney at during that penalty. Shot is saved and he is still focused on the ball and cold blooded shots it into that goal.

Love how he didn't make nothing from that save. Just nailed it.

Class!

@Harry

Liverpool started fantasticaly today. We struggled to match their pace and effort. Dont know why but we just didnt come out of the blocks and needed a kick up the arse!

Although saying that i was screaming at the tv, if you watch a replay carrick attempts to clear and was pulled to the groud by Torres... He ended up on his arse and tried to flick the ball with his foot, this is when torres back heels the ball to start the move......... Maybe im wrong but it certainly looked like it at the time and in a couple of the replays

Torres v Vidic

Christ Vidic looked like he was shitting his pants every time he got one on one with Torres... He did very very well!

Lets fucking face it there is not a defender on earth that would have torres in his pocket comfortably, if you say there is name him but i doubt you can!

This lad is really something special! Unfortunitaly we mised out on him, tried to sign him twice and then the scousers nabbed him!

Trevor - That defender you ask us to name is Vidic. He was outstanding today and had the tranny in his pocket. Aside from the goal but like you said Carrick was brought down.

fantastic result! Just a note about the laydeeboy's antics, not only did he try and destroy the penalty spot, he also gave howard webb the wanker gesture after he got booked. Completely classless.

Absoloutly mint - was Gerrard playing today? Torres got it from Vidic and worth the yellow

The FSW is again off his meds

Quite clearly a foul whilst Valencia is through so Mascherano should be off - he wrestled him for a good two or three seconds so maybe in that space Carragher (who should also have been off for dropping Fletcher later as should have Kuyt for a shithouse tackle on Fletcher) makes up ground. He still stopped a scoring opportunity.

Then the stupid illogical twat goes onto to say had dived. "Yes, I think so. It's not clear. There is maybe a contact, but the way he fell down – strange.

"It made a big, big difference. One situation changed everything. You can't change things sometimes."

But Benítez, "The referees are professional. We know about the influence of Sir Alex in everything, but these referees are very professional." so why the fuck did Webb give a penalty - so wtf is he saying now. Are refs professional or not - if the turd eyed twat is taking the piss then does he get charged by the FA

Anyway the scousers are done - if they keep this up back to division 2 and they ain't got no Bill Shankley or management to bring them back.

I now wait to see if the FA will take any retrospective action against Torres. The ref sure as hell seemed like he did not see what he did when he was messing up the penalty spot. Definitely unprofessional and possibly "bringing the game into disrepute"...

The Chelsea slide started with him and his loyalty to his teamates (and their wives)

Thanks JT - you are a class act and all of Manchester are ternally gratefull

A couple of points to make:
1. Great game and result!

2. Andy Gray saying that Reina "deserved better" after he saved the penalty - BOLLOCKS! If it was a great save he wouldn't have knocked it right back into the middle of the goal - he got exactly what he deserved

3. Anyone see Carragher raping Rooney for the second goal? What a twat

4. Man of the match in a 4-0 win against Milan and a winner against the dippers - yet somehow I still hear United fans (not on here) slagging off Park. Wise up!

@ bigphil2003 - If you hear any of those so-called fans slagging of Tri Lung Park, tell 'em he'll have all their pet dogs dognapped and serve them as hot dogs outside Anfield!!

Park = Schole replacement (in terms of attacking mid role - not playmaker / ball sprayer / ninja... role ;O)

Manchester Utd aren't supposed to win the EPL title this season! Not with a team that have lost Cristiano Ronaldo, with expensive striker Dimitar Berbatov yet to deliver, and Rio Ferdinand injured, suspended. Chelsea are supposed to win it comfortably.

And they should have been in a good position right now after MU's poor results around the time of that 3-0 away loss to Fulham. But Chelsea squandered the chance to pull away when MU were down. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Chelsea didn't have their previous ruthlessness. Come on, MU!... this title will be long remembered... 19
