Wayne Rooney opened the scoring for United from the penalty spot, sending Rob Green the wrong way, after Nani missed a crucial penalty last weekend in Rooney’s absence at Craven Cottage. Nani was happy to do his bit to make up for that though, scoring an excellent goal himself before setting up Dimitar Berbatov, who acrobatically scored a third for United.
