Who's saying we'd buy rentboys? Yeah, there will be money available, but that doesn't mean we'll go out and stat buying any player with a pulse. And this theory, that United have always relied on young players coming through, is nonsense. Sir Alex has always adopted the twin approach of bringing through young players and spending big money on someone, who he thinks will strengthen the squad significantly. I don't want United to go and spend silly money on players who are only coming to get a fat pay cheque, I'd expect SAF to spend that money as he sees fit.

On future club ownership we can't win

The Red Knights have their own exclusive agenda - so no I wouldn't take them

Then you have billionaires all over the place

Do you take the Chinese for example?

Do you take another American?

Would you ever take a Russian?

Do you take the Qatari's - Arabs they are but their game plan much different from say Sheikh Mansour?

We cannot win unless their is one multi billionaire United fan out there.

Wakey - no what united should have is a financial position where there is no debt and money to spend. The identity that I want united to have is, the united of the 90's where there was a good amount of cash in place, no debt and united buy good pro's who are not all about the limelight. I do not know why united fans are moaning we have no world player of the year players when united of the mid 90's had none of those. I am glad the days of ronaldo are gone, where we heard all the time he was off to spain

@cedars no sir alex is very careful with who he signs and has always just brought in one or two players at a time,thats to do with his philosophy and we've never had unlimited funds before.what worries me as some of the lads have pointed out billionaire owners start fucking with the running of the team and sir alex quits.we end up with some puppet manager like it is at city and chelsea we become the team that most of us despise

You know, I think that having the Qataris as our owners couldn't be bad.

Other than the reasons CedarsDevil stated, another thing is the World Cup in 2022. They want to be shown as a football country by that time. I think if they buy us it's not as a toy, but something to show off like a really expensive painting. You're not gonna change that are you? Hopefully they buy us and leave the football part to the football people..

@ceadars i'm not saying we'd become city or chelsea but can you name me one team that was taken over by a billionarie and everything stayed staus quo or one team were the owner didn't interfere,its a ego thing the club becomes his penis just like these dorks who buy flashy cars and have thier own plates. it would change the dynamic of the club and i'm not sure for the better,like you said its only speculation we'll have to wait and see

Does it actually remove the debt or does it just change the structure of the debt? I think you will find the debt still exists and unless they get generous when the then also move on any new owners will expect either to call that debt in or have it serviced for years to come. Stupid spending may also see any bank debt used to buy players with money the club doesn't have could be called in upon sale (although unless the new owners drove the club into the ground I suspect that the new owners would be able to provide teh bank guarantee but its a potential issue)

SAF may not go out and spend it without any thought and the Glazers haven't shown any evidence being likely to sign players over his head BUT can we be sure that other owners wouldn't.The problem is the Qatar group are going to be prone to buying players to compete with the Sheiks and may buy without SAF's ok (Which I think would see SAF quit)

Hello. Fuck that. I don't want any fucking arabs buying united and turning us into rentboys. Unless of course they DO give the full running of the club to fergie. Don't know about otherts but when hearing sunderland fans singing there's only one danny wellbeck makes mne feel really proud to have him as a united player. He really is turning into a proper player. Making gyan and bent look very very average.

I don't want the Qatari deal to happen if it means the club losing its identity of giving youth a chance, players treating the manager and the club with respect and not some 'superstar' acting like he's above everyone else because he's earning 300k a week. The United family culture where you are treated as more than just a mere footballer, where you are taught the moral values so evidently lacking at a particular club in London. And the stability, the willingness to back the manager, not lurching from one crisis to another, just going on with our business of winning football matches and trophies without needing all the silly drama queens.

Unfortunately, it is not something that fans will have any input in.

Willie. I will have a little wager mate that mourino will NOT be the next united manager. Just cannot see it. Could be a few years yet and by that time ole will have qualified molde to the title and european final or brucey will get sunderland top two. Well maybe not but in my opinion it will be someone who lives and breathes united. Yeah I mentioned steve currys top ten teams on fri. Just look at the comments. Abu in the extreme. Allegedly not ONE united player from 99 would get into barca and we have just been lucky to win all our trophies.

The club losts it's identity, when Edwards floated the club on the stock market. Now, we're open to all in sundry, for any kind of take over. Like the fans have any input now? The glazers will sell United to the highest bidder, so we'll all have to deal with that. @ King Eric We'll always disagree on Mourinho mate.

RedLife - LOL tell the last youth player to come through the academy that is of world class level that scholes beckham and giggs brought to the united team. United are not producing youth players by the dozen that it once was in the past, united are buying players just like every other club does.

arsenal are my least favourite (good*) team .
they don't behave like men, petulant and petty.
it comes from Wenger - he has absolutely no grace in losing
he never tears into his team - thats why they have no backbone
i have no respect for them.
Chelsea are a worthy adversary - if they win the league we can put our hands up and say a good team won - lots of english players too.
i believe we are the best team in the league and we will win, but if not, rather Chelsea that Arsenal.

*obv city and the dippers are disliked more, but they can't be described as 'good' at the mo
