Someone should charge the FA with racism- Evra, Ferdinand, Vieira and Adebayor get charged for any kind of aggressive behaviour (fine) but all of the white players get away with it. Garbage.

What does it take to send this thug to prison? Seriously, I if I did the same thing in public, I'd end up in jail. Stevie me is an effin disgrace.

Actually fucking angry. I take small consolation in the fact that the FA only seem to punish the big clubs, and it's why Stevie Me and Bellamy keep getting away with shit!

Hi Ghtt, I'm so pleased Emily had a good time at Old Trafford, including meeting 2 real legends in Sir Bobby and Paddy. I'd love you to read my account of my first time seeing United in the flesh, 50 years ago this month. It's called 'Watching United 50 Years Ago: Fulham v United , March 26th 1960'. It's still just in Recent Entries . I thought of Emily as I wrote it, and I love the idea of the 50 year gap.

On the FA and Gerrard, it just makes me so angry. Year in, year out the FA treat us differently.

@jessie

i havent really thought about that before, but i wonder if it really is a coincidence ... hmmm... could someone check on that? of course we'd never really prove anything :)

anyways, i am really pissed with the FA - they are always shitting on ManUtd's parade - seriously when was the last favourable thing they have done for us? they keep giving us these ridiculous bans which i would accept if they were consistent with the other teams!!

bunch of wankers! probably support insufferably mediocre and crap teams, so want to vent their frustrations on us - bet there are loads of London-teams-supporting suits on the FA!!

methinks it is the same ref for the mascherano foul as well for liverpool!

well, at least that ref is consistent - he lets players off for using GBH on others - wonder how he'd feel if one of the players chased him down the pitch and "accidently" clocked his head from behind - walk up and talk to him and then walk away?

what if he decided to complain to the FA and they told him they were not going to do anything about it? wonder if he would feel that is fair and fine...!

what a wanker!

@RTNK

It does have a better look now. Assuming the favorites go through tomorrow, the quarters will have:

2 English teams
2 French teams
2 Spanish teams
1 Italian team
1 Russian team

That's a good balance. But I feel that Platini targeted English clubs to a degree.

Anyway. Looking at the final 8 og the C.L., I must say that I am feeling a bit more positive about our chances than I did at the start of the season. It's a big bonus that we don't have to deal with the likes of Milan, Chelsea and Real. But a lot will depend on the period from March 30th to April 7th. That's when the Quarter finals of the C.L. as well as the Chelsea game will happen. We will have to find a perfect balance between the two obligations.

@ JD- there's a difference between utd parking the bus against barca in 07/08 and chelsea doing it. the major difference is chelsea do it EVERY week. even when they're thrashing crap teams 5-0, it's mostly because they either catch them on the break, or because drogba is very effective at raping inferior defences. when united parked the bus against barca, it showed that we have a team who can adapt to many different tactics, unlike arsenal for example. i think the quality of football from utd has improved this season over the previous season for sure. we did play some exciting football at some points of the season, but it was more restrained than this year.
and the fa are obviously corrupt and disgustingly biased against united...why though? i really want to know why they decided to target utd and fawn over everyone else.
@ ghtt- during the game whenever i heard a chant starting up, or when rooney scored, i couldn't help but think of you and emily. bless the girl, she got to experience the OT atmosphere first hand, got to see wazza, nev, fletch, evra, vida, rio etc in their natural element and meet paddy and sir bobby!!!! you guys have nooo idea how lucky you are to be living in the uk :( and yeah i know ghtt and emily are irish, but you still have way more access to the club than us poor fans all over the world. i can't believe i've been all over england inc, leeds, lake district, warwick, oxford, huddersbloodyfield! and obviously london and i've never been to manchester.
hopefully after i graduate, i'll get to visit the theatre of dreams. if i actually manage to do it before giggsy, scholesy, nev and fergie retire...i might just die happy.

I'm actually happy that this scouse scrote will line up against us on sunday. I think he's owed some payback for last season and even though he could be a big threat i get the feeling our lads won't let us down in that game especially if Giggsy and Scholesy are brought back .

Costas - not to nitpick (and it pains my Spanish half), but best case for spain is 1 (not 2) quarter finalists. Assuming bordeaux and barca win tomorrow, then 2 england, 2 france and 1 each of germany, spain, russia and italy.

The F.A. is racist and cannot be expected to act fairly AT ALL TIMES. They act 'fairly' when they want to but at other times, the arch racists that they are, they turn a blind eye to things. Gerard can do no wrong ... Gerard did not elbow the player in the video ... he only seemed to be doing so ... and that is not a wrong, is it? And, if the manager says that he (Gerard) had not done anything wrong to warrant punishment, then he must be right for he right knows when it is right for a player to do something wrong, and be considered to have done nothing wrong, and when it is not. Mm..mm this time he must be right, right? Well done, F.A.!

Off topic: Its seems ronnies presence is already creating a divide in the dressing room at Madrid. Higuain isnt too happy with him and neither is ronny because they dont pass the ball to each other. real may sell Higuain as they feel he isnt a 'galactico'. Forget Ronaldo even if we can get Higuain for 30 million i will be very happy. He is a really good striker

I didn't really expect the FA to act. They usually find some convenient excuse not to do so.
Off topic... Just read an article on Oliver Gill getting booed when his name was called out during the Fulham. Leave aside whether one agrees with his father or not, but how pathetic is that. Booing a young kid because of his father is really sad.

The FA's credibilty is very much in doubt here. They should have banned Stevie me 3 games and the referee who saw exactly what was going on should be suspended indefinately. The FA is a farce. They come up with any excuse to punish United and let the rest get away with murder. Shame on you at the FA. Credibility 0%.

I didnt hear any booing when Oliver Gill's name was read out, but if anyone did boo, they really need to take a long hard look at themselves. With regards David Gill, as others have said on here, we could do a whole lot worse than him. Hes in a no win situation right now, one which none of us, in the same situation, would know which way to turn.
That aside, stevie me and the fa, utterly lost for words.

He should be banned from the game against United and miss 3 games in Liverpool's run in. The intention of the FA not to bring to book Gerrard as a recent England captain is transparent- so as to avoid further scandal.

What will he get away with on Sunday?

@brett

I wish that was the case, but it won't happen. When Rio elbowed Fagan he had the same status in the England team as Gerrard does now. The FA's excuse in this, is that the referee was happy with how he handled the Gerrard incident. It's pretty moronic, but that's the FA for you.

@giles @costa @king Eric @jellybean @ anyone else
thank you so much for those comments Emily had a ball. @ Giles I read the artical about your first game and I taught it amazing that 50 years later it was my besties turn. Emily had a ball and a little story about emilys first time in old trafford when the team sheet was been read out Emily cheered so loud after everyone of the names. But then 46 seconds later she asked me why noone cheered, I heared no boos after gills name at all but Emily was right no one cheered. I taught it strange and a little small that the only person that I heard supporting a Manchester united youngster was a 3 year old

Hi mate
Well I am calmed down now.....early in the morning when i read that he had been let-off, I just completely lost it, hell if i had seen anyone from the FA at that point i would have strangled them with my bare hands...its probably best i dont live in England :D .....I should have expected that from the bastards at FA anyway....

Ghtt, I love that Emily story. Mind you it's possible she was cheering so loud it drowned out everyone else!

On the booing of Ollie Gill, if it really happened it's a disgrace to the good name of United supporters. And it's also stupid as it is divisive, just when unity is strength, and it will undoubtedly weaken the amazing level of public sympathy for United at this crucial time. Every day I wear my green & gold scarf and it's guaranteed to get a conversation going (yesterday on the train to Waterloo, this time with a United season ticket holder and fellow MUST member), including countless positive conversations with bitter 'enemies' like Chelsea, City and Liverpool fans. At the moment they are all on our side against the 'Glaziers' (as they are always called) but trashy stuff like singling out a kid hoping to make his first appearence for United will very swiftly kill all of that off. 'Typical United fans' they'll start to say, arrogant, nasty, ugly.

No problem. I am glad she had a great time and she watched Rooney score. As I told Giles, maybe in 50 years me and Emily can write about our first OT experience.

Shame about Oliver Gill. The boy has done nothing wrong to deserve this and United fans have to lay off his back. With our injuries, we might have to depend on him. Soon.

@Red Devil

Is there any law that applies to St Stevie of Me in this pathetic country. The things this vile excuse of a human being gets away with make me sick and as usual there is very little said by the media. The excuse is that because he is Englands Vice Captain then nothing can be done as it would create fresh scandal. I will now support every other country in the World Cup bar England in protest at the FA's disgraceful double standards.

I am distraught and angry about the lack of a ban. I am not surprised and was telling myself that they wouldn't charge him but I still find myself angry that they didn't. It is disgraceful that someone can hit someone in the back of the head and get punished and nearly an IDENTICAL situation occurs and no actions is taken. The FA might just be the worst run organization in Pro-Sports.

Not entirely the FAs fault unless you blame them for the rule that prevents them from charging SG since the ref saw full incident and/or letting Stuart Attwell continuing to ref premier league games.

This falls squarely on Attwell who has seen the incident twice now and thinks he handled it appropriately.

Ok I take it back, it is the FAs fault because now 2 referees (Wiley and Attwell) have deemed the intentional throwing of an elbow is not a red card offense where as another referee (Steve Bennett on Rio) does. There should be zero subjectivity on the matter. Intentional elbow to the head = red card/ban.

Maybe karma will play it's part on Sunday.
