Edwin Van der Sar came out of retirement today to play for VV Noordwijk, the club he spent his youth career before joining Ajax, after their first choice goalie Mustafa Mare Zine was ruled out with an injury.

VV Noordwijk, who are in the fourth tier of Dutch football, convinced Van der Sar to play again, after retiring five years ago, in what should be just one game.

In their game against Jodan Boys, Van der Sar saved a penalty, using the technique he did against Nicolas Anelka to save that all-important penalty in Moscow. He pointed to one corner, then dived in the opposite direction, making the save.
