Vidic's goal was the very definition of a thunderous header. Cracking game all round, best game I've seen United play all season.

Recap on tonights game:
Very good performance by the players tonight. I do wonder though why does SAF tends to sub rafael/fabio at around the 65th min almost every game they play, whether it was good performance or shaky.
Glad to see the lads won the game with a clean sheet so the ABU-media doesnt make a meal out of the second goal. I really was surprised to hear the commentators and the analysts just praise Tottenham and bash on United, its like United have been lucky over the past decade and not a true team.

United.

Glad to see park putting in a very good performance. Disappointed that Berb was substituted, though. I feel he could have contributed more.

The controversial goal just underlines the poor standard of refereeing. It wasn't directly the referee's mistake, but what was his mistake was that he neither called the blatant foul for penalty, nor whistled for the freekick due to nani's handball. The goal, as such, was legitimate, but the confusion came solely due to the referee and dimwit nature of Gomes.

Anyway, since its United, the whole world and media will come out screaming about favoritism, but I hope they do put pressure on refereeing standards.

Especially pleased that we are starting to score from setpieces. In terms of the funniest goals scored so far, Nani's today tops Hernandez's in the Community Shield.

City lose to wolves!

What Rooney was to us, last season, Tevez is to them, this time around.
And to think that such an important person is thinking of retiring from football!! This is how it feels to be city!

U know what mate..they are just talking shite...the commentators and analysts...they must be watching another game if they could simply bash united and praise spurs...

Excellent game by Nani though...park was fantastic too...the only player for me that was not on his level was fletch...he gave the ball away too cheaply many times..which irked me...to me he just looked a bit slow and lazy...the rest were fantastic...i loved the way rafael just brushed Bale aside and took the ball away from him with ease...at one stage in the first half...that was so pleasing to watch..:-)

From what I saw, Nani's goal was a legitimate one. Albeit it was credit to Clattenburg for the confusion.

After Nani's appeal for a penalty was denied, his handball was not called by Clattenburg either. He just waved play on. So there was no question of a free kick. But since it was such an obvious hand ball, Gomes thought it was a freekick. Pity.

And the other thing is that the replays repeatedly showed Nani looking toward Clattenburg while approaching the ball and just before slotting it in and Clattenburg motioned something like play on. LOL.

@downandout

Yep. Shocking. But we're used to that, aren't we??

Did anyone realise that pavlyuchenko was mimicking a chicken towards the end of the game when nani was taking a corner? ...he would have been doing the same if his team was leading...born Idiot!!!!

I cant quite decide who was the man of the match , its somewhere between Nani, Park, and Vidic...however i will vote for Nani...such a wonderful talent .....he is just like CR7...except he is less pacey but look at the bright sides , he is more tricky on the ball, less selfish, more team player, more mature and he is not pretending to be fouled all the time .......cant wait to c him best player on the planet.......and Rooney !!!!! united doesnt have ambition ???

fact of the matter is, if the second goal had happened to united, we all would be bitching just like they are. these things happen though, just move on, game over

Nani dissapointed me a little in the match yesterday, he went to ground more times in a match than Emile Hesky!

Maybe my take is too honest i hate diving players! Not meaning for the penalty he was flopping about most of the game!

Come on its a mans game get up and get on with it! Stop looking to drop like a bag of spuds every opportunity!

Berbatov also dissapointed me yesterday, he was so poor it was unreal!

Hernandez's Workrate was great & some neat link up play!

Vidic and Rio did well although Vidic had some rash moments of madness that i was used to seeing with Johnny Evans but hay ho we got away with it!

Gareth Bale .. Gareth Bale.... Can we sign this lad ??? Maybe quick? He looked dangerous from time to time! Imagine Nani on the right and Bale on the left!........ Erm What a thought!

In all the commotion that followed, a fantastic pass by our big and bad Wesley Brown went unnoticed! His ball through for Nani is one that the Scholes', Xavi's and Iniesta's of the world would be proud of.

He's been good the last couple of games, hoping he'll get an injury free season and maybe get back to his unbelievable form of 07-08 season!
