Clint ..I see what you're saying and agree but I'm quite sure that Sir Bobby has a bit of clout at Utd but in replacing the Gaffer maybe not as much as the man himself .Having said that let's hope its a case of "keep your friends but your enemies closer"

Sir Alex has certainty spoilt us all. No disrespect intended to the younger fans but Robbo was so special that you just wonder if they realise just what a truly special player he was. Robbo IMHO was the only midfield player to eclipse Roy Keane.

Some have disliked me for saying this before, there is no room for comparison between Robbo and Keano............

Sorry for those that may hate me, Keano is no where near as good as Robbo, in any way

CedarsDevil.
I can understand any younger fan supporting keano over Robbo, as Roy was a true United legend. I loved keano too, but I think that those of us who were lucky anough to see Robbo play will never be in any doubt as to who was the greatest. Again no disrespect to Roy at all, but Robbo was simply that good.

As an Englishman I want so badly to feel passionate about the national team but just can't. They are so pathetic and soulless its untrue. Here is why they will never win dick under hodgson

- Gerrard, Carroll, downing, Henderson, Kelly all appeared tonight. That's five players who have had awful seasons. A team that comes 8th is the most represented?

- jagielka only a provisional, he has been the best centre hall for England in qualifying.

- downing and Milner on the wings? 0 assists 0 goals all season from downing.

- Chamberlain started one game in the second half of the season for arsenal.

- Carrol didn't even make the 11 in the fa cup final so don't be fooled by the shite scousers spiel that he has come good.

- Henderson, Milner, Barry, parker all above Carrick?

Just illustrates how pathetic the FA is set up. Fucking terrible

I watched both Robbo and Keano and you can certainly compare them. In fact they are two legends of whom you actually could like for like compare. Both very similar in every way. I would actually edge Keane due to him standing out in so much talent where as robbo was a one man team

Your text is as good as your nick.
England = Liverpool + Barry, Lescott, Milner and some GREAT UNITED players, BUT!! The best midfielder left at home. Carrick. He didn't deserve that.
Quarter finals?

I love captain marvel he was as good as there has ever been in midfield for us. I edge Keano as I say because both almost inseparable but Keano stood out and dragged all around him. It's very close just throwing my two pence in.

Headed goals? Keane has one as far as I remember............Leadership? Robbo did that. Keane was fucking mental

Please do not compare them

It is precisely the reason that Robbo was a one man team that I loved him so much. True Keano did shine in a great team and Robbo shone in an average team but I still believe Robbo would have outshone keano in any side. I truly hope this doesn't sound like I am trying to belittle keano but for me , Robbo was the more complete player. Whatever we believe, the only thing for certain is that we were privileged to have had two of the greatest midfielders ever at one club.

Still do not agree my friend....I watched Robson for years as I did Keane. As far as football is concerned they are not even close. We can argue about leadership and YES Keane was a leader but in terms of footballing skills Robbo would piss all over him

I will add my favourite all time players are between Robbo, Keano, and Scholes.

Maybe I edge Keano more due to age I don't know, or maybe it is that we have nothing to compare against either since. We have not replaced a skipper since Keano left.

You don't need to agree with me you prefer Robbo as well you should. I don't prefer either my point is the are like for like in every way. I edged Keano for reasons above.

Robbo has the George Best scenario about it, for us the best player in the world ever and pissed on Maradona and Pele but was unfortunate with his national team.

I guess I'm doing the same with Keano

Cedars -

Thanks mateey :) Shiver me timbers, the old ticker is feeling alright, but the morning are not so savvy for the auld Heart.

I believe if Ole's careers stays on track he will manage United but only after Maureen. I dont want Maureen but like shit out of a baby, you know its coming soon with huge stink following.

Best- Robbo, could comparison. Both world class players in average sides. It's great that we can have these debates and see both sides of the argument. As a rose tinted glasses supporter, Best will always be the greatest player ever. Robbo will always edge Keane. Each to his own, and I suppose it comes down to the time you were brought up in and your loyalty to those players. Thank fuck we have had them all at United. 19

samuel - united WE stand May 26, 2012
Same old england, can't string two passes together, hoofing long ball to big lump up front, slow and predictable in midfield and yet again, another united player to the rescue. Gerrard still the overrated cunt that tries hollywood passes that he'll never pull off just so he can get all the praise, they still have useless goalkeepers, gareth barry getting exposed now he can't behind the work of yaya, parker still the sideways hyped player that has never completed a successful or decisive pass forward, downing still flying the flag of no assist or goals, henderson (invisible man) still doing fuck all. Well that's it roy, trophy is definitely coming home.

It was piss poor wasn't it! I can't remember a team that looked so ordinary. Without Rooney can anyone else tell me who is Englands world class footballers?

I can think of one which is Hart the rest are mediocre

To be fair, you could mix the Keane and Robson and a few others together, you still wouldn't come near George Best. Comfortably the most talented footballer from the British shores.....
