Clint- you want players to be happy and playing well maybe this france thing is affecting his united form. saying that he's a different player when Vidic plays he covers more when Evra bombs forward and Ferdinand covers the center, can't beleive some of the posts about ferdinand the last few days ,our most expericenced player

RedScot - They were decent in Benfica mate. A slick passing team. The wee Argy on the wing is one to watch. The way things are looking atm, we may need to beat them at OT. Shouldn't be in this position. The Basel game was an eye opener for everyone. Still think we'll top the group.

Mark -
Agree with you, Rio is instrumental to our defence, off the pitch he is a teacher no doubt about it., In my opinion he is more important than Vida but that was based on the past. Rio has years ahead of him, he is only being tipped to leave because of the success stories of Jones & Smalling,Evans. You have to remember they are 19 & 21 & 23. Rio & Vida are needed until those lads can get at least 4 years of experience into them.

About Evra, he compliments our attack and he is vital to our attack. His defensive work is better this year than last so I am happy with his improved contributions. Paddy being dropped by France will only motivate him to improve, knuckle down and impress for United just impress Blanc. Hope it happens, I doubt it will knock his huge confident head

Bannan is primarily a central midfielder but also can play as a winger. He is particularly useful with his left foot.

Bannan has skill, vision and good passing ability. It is these attributes that led to Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier likening him to Barcelona midfielders Xavi Hernandez and Andrés Iniesta. Houllier had only been in charge of Villa for a few weeks before saying "He is an intelligent player, he can read the game well and adapt well. I don’t think Xavi and Iniesta, who are outstanding players, are of huge size. They are intelligent, they have the skill, they have the desire – young Barry has all of that."

Ian Holloway, who Bannan played under during his time at Blackpool, described him as "a beautiful footballer, absolutely lovely to watch".

Bannan's height and playing style have also led to Scotland team-mate Darren Fletcher comparing him to the likes of Xavi, Iniesta and Paul Scholes. The Manchester United midfielder stated that Bannan "is in the mould of the best midfielders in the world", and said "I'm talking about Xavi, Iniesta and Paul Scholes".

John Mullen, a football coach that taught Bannan as a youngster at St. Margaret's High School, said in 2010 that he was unsurprised at the success of the midfielder. He claimed that Bannan "had all the attributes you could ask for in a player", was "always motivated" and "gave a lot to the team”.

In December 2010, Houllier was again full of praise for him. He said "Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Pedro. You can watch and wonder if they are playing in the youth team sometimes. They have fast technique and young Barry has all of that." Houllier then defended Bannan's size, and insisted it wont hold him back. Houllier said "The Premier League has got more physical but it is not about a matter of size. Obviously you need size in some positions but it's also a matter of commitment and physical commitment. Barry is competitive."

Bannan, however, claimed that former Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill had doubts over his ability due to his size.

“I don’t think I could have a higher opinion of any footballer than I already had of the Irishman, but he rose even further in my estimation at the Stadio Delle Alpi. The minute he was booked and out of the final he seemed to redouble his efforts to get the team there. It was the most emphatic display of selflessness I have seen on a football field. Pounding over every blade of grass, competing if he would rather die of exhaustion than lose he inspired all around him. I felt it was an honour to be associated with such a player. (Alex Ferguson on Roy Keane after the European Cup semi-final in the 1999.)

The grandmothers, a vital influence over the village community, have gathered to give a speech thanking David Gill and United for supporting the work of Unicef in the area. After a discussion about how the village can combat malaria, the grandmothers then break into an impromptu African dance and invite Gill to get involved, which he reluctantly does.
"You have done something my wife can never do and got me on the dance floor without alcohol by 3pm," he tells them. The reception provided for Gill in Ngarigne Bambara, a village south of Dakar in Senegal, has been replicated across the African country during a two-day visit.

Come now we take you on the biggest adventure

Must be dementia, that you ever thought
You could touch our credentials, what's the initials?

You be Jamrock the lyrical official
Send out the order, laws and the rituals

Burn candles, say prayers, paint murals
It is truth we big news, we hood heroes

Break past the anchor, we come to conquer
Man a badman, we no play Willy Wonka

And I got the guns

I got the ganja !
