Ahead of the new Premier League season, RoM has spoken to fans of several different clubs. Chris Forryan from Leicester Till I Die shares his opinions.
Scott: How did Leicester do in 2014-15?
Chris: ‘The Great Escape’ of course. I had predicted a 13th place finish we managed 14th but what a journey to get there. Our place is cemented in history I think (including the 5-3 win over a certain Northern club)
Scott: How do you expect them to do in 2015-16?
Chris: Hopefully a season of consolidation and not as heart stopping as last season. With the additions we have made a 10th-13th final placing would be good.
Scott: Who do you think will be your best player?
Chris: Jamie Vardy can only get better. Runs till Fergie time for the club and could see more England caps come his way.
Scott: How do you rate your manager?
Chris: The Jury is out on this one with Claudio Ranieri only just taking over. I though, am happy with his appointment as sadly Pearson had to go after all his bad press rather than footballing reasons. Ranieri’s task is made all the harder following the Great escape.
Scott: Are you happy with your team’s business in the transfer window?
Chris: We have been linked with everyman and hos dog!! The post Ranieri appointment signings are pleasing. Experience without the OAP pension tag.
Scott: Are you collecting former United players?? How highly do you rate De Laet, Matty James, Lawrence and Simpson?
We also send the jumped up, ego over inflated ones back – as in Nick Powell.
That said De Laet divides opinion, can give the ball away too easily but is good going forward, Matty James is immense. Will mature into an excellent midfield general, shame he is out for so long with his injury. The less said about Danny Simpson after his recent court case the better.
Scott: Where do you think United will finish this season?
Chris: You need to add some strikers and I still think you have at least one more season to go before you can seriously be considered title challengers again. Football, I believe, goes in circles. It was Liverpool in the 80’s followed by yourselves and I believe now is Chelsea’s time to dominate.
Scott: Who do you think will win the league?
Chris: Cannot see beyond Chelsea if I am honest.
