there is all this talk about 'where the goals will come from' but looking at that table it's interesting to see that Ronaldo only scored 17 goals more than Rooney having played a season more for Utd than Wayne has, and given Wayne's injuries over the past 5 seasons he's had much less time.

Well done Wayne, by the time you retire from Utd I suspect we'll have a different record goalscorer at the top of the table.

Only 3 in the 200 club? Go for 'em Wazza! Surprised though that he's not that far behind from Ronnie.

I'm not a old supporter of United but i do know some of the history of the club. However, i do shock about Sir Bobby Charlton. He is the top scorer of England and is also United most appearance until Giggs surpassed and also United top scorer. Sir Bobby is a magnificent player. I do hope Rooney can surpass this great man. Come on

i hope this season his goal tally would go up to 125 at the end of this season. he's already scored 3 goals at burnely and wigan, so all he needs to do is score 22 and we have a 25 goals a season striker.

I would hope he gets 25 goals in the league alone. Hopefully he will get over 30 in all competitions.

Look at Bobby's record. 249 goals from mostly midfield. LEGEND and a top man.

I'm certain that by the time Wazza retires (still at UTD) he will hold the record for United and England, hopefully be remembered as the greatest ever English player.

Rooney at this current stage in his carrer is not firing on all cylinders!

Before you all jump... Henry - Van N - Berchamps - Cantona - Etc did not produce the magical stuff until 26 / 27 pus... I can see Rooney being a 30 goal a season guy then!.....

Watch out charlton he is coming for your record and with the potential he has he will be close!!!

Scott is there another column for appearances in this table? If so please post a link to that image. That'd be interesting...

Rooney can easily reach the top in 5 years.

you can find all United information you could think of at this website

Very good site

On Rooney, I think he can even aim for Tommy Taylor, especially if we go on a cup run and a continental run. The boy has so much talent, and at time we forget he is still only 23, almost 24. He has another 10+ years left at United, and barring a major injury, he can probably beat Sir Bobby.

Wow Hughsie 163!! What a legend! Although he is at Citeh now, i dont have any hatred for him, still just admiration. All the things he said at Citeh was part of his job, and he is learning his job well, i do hope he will be among the names in the list when the time comes.

But rooney at just 23, playing so selflessly, i mean, when you look at Nistelrooy and Ronaldo, they both had only the goal in their mind, that is why they are there in list. But Rooney is different. If he scores 30goals each season till he is 30, then he will get close to 300 goals!
