Manchester United take on Barnsley in the fourth round of the Carling Cup which on paper is one of the easier draws of the round, given the several Premiership pairings to be played tonight and tomorrow.
Still, United are no strangers to cup upsets and were even knocked out of the FA Cup by Barnsley in the 97-98 season. More recent success for Barnsley include the impressive FA Cup victories over Liverpool and Chelsea the season before last.
Wes Brown has warned the young players that are likely to play tonight that tonight is going to be anything but easy.
“When you play at Old Trafford it is never easy,” said Wes. “However if you can get over the fear factor, the way we play, it can be very enjoyable. Then you go away to small ground, a tight area and it is a completely different game. They get stuck in, they are rattling and it can throw you. I think our young lads know what they are up against and those with experience will help. We certainly don’t want any mishaps and I am sure we will be ready for the challenge.”
