Wes Brown chantFabio Capello seems to be a fan of our Wes Brown, choosing him as the first choice right back until he picked up another injury. If he can stay fit, he will certainly be in Capello’s squad and likely to be a starting player ahead of Glen Johnson.

However, Wes reckons he isn’t distracted by thoughts of the summer, claiming it’s all about United right now.

“I was in the World Cup squad in Japan and that was great and it is great we are there now, but it is a long time between now and then,” said Wes. “People have still got to play for their clubs and play well. Hopefully, when it gets closer we will be thinking about it a lot more but at the moment it is definitely all about the club.”

Wes’ best season for the club came in 07/08, where he featured more than any other player as we went on to win the Double, and even assisted Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal in the European Cup final. He’s had injury after injury since then, although reckons he’s more than happy to work hard to keep his place, as he has no intention of playing elsewhere.

“I have been injured on so many occasions, I am used to coming back and trying to getting back into the team,” he added. “That has happened again this season. The injuries have been frustrating but this is the only place I have ever wanted to be and Manchester United is the only club I have ever wanted to play for. I am still happy to do that.”
