Ashley Young has reflected on his move to Manchester United, following the 1-0 win against his former club Aston Villa at the weekend.
“They don’t come much bigger than Manchester United,” said Young. “I have always had confidence in my own ability and the club had enough confidence to sign me. I know quite a few players through England, so I settled in straight away.”
Young has been used on the left wing as well as behind the striker but he insists he is happy to play anywhere for United.
“I don’t have a favourite position. As long as I am in the team I am happy. The modern-day footballer has to be versatile.”
