Ashley Young, who scored Manchester United’s opening goal against Ajax this week, has claimed that he is getting used to every game being a cup final for the opposition.

“You realise from the first time you join the club how much pressure is put on you,” he said. “And every team wants to beat Man United. It’s the biggest team in the world and you always want to beat the big teams. It’s like a cup final for other teams, especially at Old Trafford. So we know there’s always pressure. It’s how you deal with it. I’ve enjoyed it a lot here and there is plenty to come. There are plenty of games and points and the Europa League to look forward to. I think it is easy to mould yourself into the Man United way of playing. All the players that joined in the summer have been able to do it. We have that philosophy of going out to play football and have the confidence to play. That’s what the manager instils in us all.”
