It has been reported this afternoon that local lad, Zeki Fryers, has agreed a £20k per week contract with Tottenham Hotspur. Fryers had turned down the latest offer from United back in April which left Spurs as front runners to land the 19-year-old.

Earlier this week, when confirming that Paul Pogba had left the club, Sir Alex Ferguson claimed he didn’t know what was happening with the youngster.

Whilst there will be criticism levelled at him, it’s hard to argue with him leaving the club for such an incredible salary. Tom Cleverley is reportedly earning £40k a week at United, whilst Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are on £50k a week. Chances are he wasn’t going to make it at United, as much as we wanted him to, and he would have gone on to follow the likes of Phil Bardsley and Danny Simpson to being decent enough Premier League full-backs.
