Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spent the day with the Manchester United squad in LA as they prepare for their third pre-season game against Milan on Thursday.

Taking charge of the clubs social media channel, Ibrahimovic talked about how nice it was to be reunited with his former teammates and his belief that something special is in place for the season ahead.

I see a lot of quality, but not quality like me but that’s okay [laughs]! It is great to see the guys, to see them happy and to see them training good. Be ready for this season because something special will happen and I think the boss has something going on. We will keep that a secret! Enjoy the season, I wish you all the best and happiness.

The love between Zlat and Mourinho is so cringeworthy, it's actually laughable.
Mourinho has blatantly used Zlatan to try and uplift spirits with anyone associated with Man Utd. I hope it works ! As far as I'm concerned, I'm just disappointed we didn't trade Mata in for a genuine RW threat. Other than , I'm somewhat comfortable with the squad. I'm not expecting anymore signings nor am I expecting to finish ahead of Shitty . This is going to be hard season lads ... buckle up!

Yusuf I agree we don't really have the personnel for 4-3-3. No real width as you say. Its a decent formation but not the best one. Your last one is better, the 4-4-2 diamond. Though personally I would go with the 4-2-2-2, picking 2 players from each category:

Forwards: Martial, Rashford, Sánchez, Lukaku

Attacking midfielders: Pogba, Pereira, Mata, Lingard

Defensive midfielders: Matic, Fred, Herrera, McTominay

Makes for good competition, rotation and cover.

Not a world of difference between 4-2-2-2 and 4-4-2 diamond though I suppose.
